how would i describe my new mesh setup? s**t, f**king s**t!
nothing in the workshop is working properly! my work laptop isnt connecting properly and i cant open emails or files, my phone is slow and intermittent. the cnc laptop which is connected to the previous extender which is hard wired to...
possibly yes.
one of them is old and not even made/sold anymore, i dont know but would be surprised if it worked on W10
i suspect mach3 would work on W10
what do you mean?
it stays in the workshop, its the laptop i use for everything workshop related. so plugging the old extender in isnt the end of the world.
no.... this is the cnc laptop. has all my old programs on it to run the various machines.
i suppose i could plug the old extender into the new mesh 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️

Just gone to the workshop to set a second unit up and My dell running windows 7 doesn't pick the WiFi up, it doesn't show it in the list of available networks 😔
How do I fix that one?
If you could use your existing BT router then it's just the cost of one more unit.
If creating a whole new mesh you then need to buy more.
I need to Google the BT mesh disk things see if they are any good.
exactly what im saying.
but the question is, will a mesh take the form of my current BT hub or will it create a new network.
so will a mesh use my bt hub username (network name) and password or will it create a separate username and password?
after reading this thread it got me thinking my setup is pretty old now.
ive got BT fibre 150 in my house with i think the smart hub 2, there is then a cat5 cable into my workshop where i have a cheap TP-link router. think its about 300mb.
id love some kind of mesh setup, just been on BT's web...
Pretty interesting stuff, been reading a few articles and watching a few vids.
Am now wondering if I can attach a sand battery/heater to the side of my wood burner in the workshop to capture more heat. The wood buner/workshop obviously cools down over night and it's freezing the next morning...
