Yep - those are still pretty potent cards. Currently on two 4890's in Crossfire myself. Pretty much max anything recent out and it breezes along fine. F1 2010 is something else in the eye-candy stakes - especially in the rain.
Looks a great build this Gareth - make sure you take plenty of pics...
Erm - yes. :approve:
Jumped straight into single player and started as the Ottomans. Minding my own business, I built up a small empire of about 10 cities and got the workers grafting hard at the infrastructure. Then the fecking Persians decided to have a go - with no warning. He took two of my...
Does look good! I still think they are missing a trick with the characters in the L4D series. I think each character should have a 'perk' that the others haven't. Remember the old Gauntlet games, where one character was stronger, another faster, another had better defense, etc? I think they...
The randomness of BC2 - lol!
Just had three games - in each I was doing appalling, easily dying double the amount of times I made a kill.
The next and fourth round? Conquest on Atacama. Ended up finishing the round on 33/5 - of which two of those deaths were my own fault in going out and out...
Bah - not good timing. :(
We once had a Proliant PSU go at work, but rather than a small 'pop', it went 'BANG!'. Bits of capacitors and allsorts over the floor and a fair amount of grey smoke.
What issues did you have with the Fata1ity card? Aside from issues when running on Windows Fista...
Fair point - they certainly aren't the cheapest things to buy. They are very well built however, so I'm hoping I'll have quite a few years left in mine yet. :)

Cheers Fred. Sounds like a garage job without that press then!
With the right kit, is it a quick turnaround for a garage? Or is it quite time intensive?
Cheers,

Absolutely the opposite m8! I've used the seperate gear shifter a few times - purely for novelty factor more than anything. I really liked using it for 'casual' drives like taking a Caterham out on the 'Ring in GTR Evo - ones where I'm not trying to set a decent time, but just get smooth lines...
Got a new front wheel bearing the other day (thanks again Chris! :)) and was thinking of swapping it over this coming weekend.
Is it a straight-forward job and would I need to get the tracking looked at again afterwards? Would a replacment bearing even affect the tracking? (goddamn n00b! :o)...
My 3GS has learnt many words - it's a dream to text on compared to any other phone I have ever used. Only the iPad with it's larger keyboard was easier to use, imo. Using a Blackberry at work is deemed as a punishment to me. You have to have fingers the size of an ant's todger to press the keys...
I have no idea on earth why Admiral does that? It was entirely my own fault (the less I have to go anywhere near car insurance, the better for me) - but all of last years policy was listed as Social Only. When I renewed last week, I asked them to verify and they said commuting wasn't covered -...
Conficker was a right fucker for us as well. Just when you think its gone, another random machine picks it up and distributes it on the network again.
It took us around 2 weeks to fully get rid of it. :(

Weird - I've just had this too. Picked Monaco in heavy rain as Alonso in the Ferrari. Set it for a 3-lap race and it ran super-smooth. I expected with the graphics options set to Ultra that it would have struggled - especially at 1920x1200 - but it didn't. :)
Anyways, tip-toeing around the...
It really is worth it m8, if you can manage it. Totally transforms any racing game - making it play like it should be played. What's better is that the software makes them so tunable to the type of game you're playing. On F1, I have the feedback quite heavily loaded so that I'm effectively...
I think the level of angst raised is purely down to how key such timings are to the sport. Yep, it's a computer game and nothing more. But if true, then such core functions of timings should have been there from the outset. Especially as many, many racing games have managed the same over the...
A small point that reflects the real life cars - is it just me who gets easily distracted by the stub aerial ahead of the cockpit? It's slap-bang in the middle of the drivers vision and has took me a while to look 'beyond' that. I bet the real F1 guys have long since forgotten that it's even...
It does support it for the PC as the game runs with Games for Windows Live. I haven't tried it though. The last time I used a pad on a racing game was with Gran Turismo 2 on the PS1.

Erm. wow.
Just spent 20mins on Spa as its probably the circuit I know best. Going flat out through Eau Rouge in 7th for the first time was superb as was the feel of the car in general.
I love the attention to detail on it. I majorly got one corner wrong and got the left-side of the car running...
Krispwee - a smaller scale of your setup, m8!
Amazon delivered it this morning, so that's my Saturday sorted out. Didn't bother with the extra gearstick on the G25 for this one - I didn't think it would be needed! :)

Interesting....
When I did a track day at Oulton about 8 years ago, there was a Ferrari on track (iirc a 360) that was plastered with The Last Ninja livery. Made by System 3, that was always one of my favourite games on the Commodore 64, but I just found it a little random why it was so heavily...
Cheers m8 - just checked on Steam and he's playing it now, so it must be working. :)
However, my Amazon copy wasn't here when I got home. Boo! :(
edit - he fecking loves it too... :D
