Naith - has the exhaust changed sinced last week (sorry - haven't read the rest of this thread)?
Sounded brilliant I thought - especially at higher revs. Good, loud, with a harsh rasp to it. Made a few of us flinch at the loudness - lol.

Basically, I swapped both clips out today (even though only one needed doing) and repacked the boots with some Comma CV/moly grease.
But I'm unsure as to how far the rubber boot comes 'back on' before applying the clip? I put both new clips back on to the same position as the originals, but...
The ad proudly states that it includes an "anti theft system". May I ask why? It will never need it.
Classic case of someone who could have doubled her money if the damn thing was left straight. I mean, look at that side pic. Even if that car was hand built by your own fair limbs, there is no...
ROFL! So true. Perhaps the most unused thing on my car.
If I was lucky enough to have the ITB work done - the air-con wouldn't even remain in there for 5 secs. Out you go....

Reclipping the CV boot clips tomorrow on mine after noticing the tell-tale spots of pea-juice on the inside of one of the rims.
Is moly-grease something easily available to pickup? Or could I use an alternative?
I'd rather repack the boot(s) with some more grease before putting a new clip...
Lol! Maybe Reno got some spy-shots of your motor and thought "now there's an idea....."!
Possible commission payments need to be looked into!

Mine's on 55k now - the original item from '04. Having said that, it's definitely sounding past its best now - lol.
I do think the type of driving you do has some impact on the longevity of an exhaust. I do about 3 miles both at the start and finish of each workday, matched with about 10 miles...
....thought that was a massive scratch on the bonnet of the last pic, at first!
Nice car m8. Increasing the ranks of RS's in the Blackpool area now. Next they will be rivaling Warrington for RS Domination! ;)

.....minus Edward Woodward, of course. ;)
Proper cheesey. But the last time I jet washed my car after work, the wash-booth was heavy with spray and the headlights were on my car. Looked really good from certain angles - probably helped with the blue-white effect of the xenons.
Even if...
Hi Woz,
I've been on Ozrenaultsport a few times and get the impression that Reno parts (and cars!) are few and far between over there.
How is the R5 Tub liking the climate over there? Is the urban myth of Tubby's not restarting easily when warm, true? ;)

Was down there again Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Parked the works motor on the multi-story connected to the Premier Inn Central - and these two were next to each other.
Following morning, just the arctic 182 was there. Think it was an '05 plate?
D.
Thinking of swapping? ;)
That was the place of my first 172 Cup viewing, back in '04. It had been used very hard though (every rim was badly scuffed and marked) - a few bits of wear and tear and 10k on the clock.
If it had been a nicer example, I probably would have gone for it instead of...
bsimmer - I notice the F150 has Virginia plates on it. Is that where you are now? Have you ever made the trip down to the Dragon's Tail at Deal's Gap?

Not sure the F150 would be much to enjoy on there, but the 300C we hired was...
If the wife is attached to it and you have a soft spot for it too, why sell? You've clearly got a rare motor there is terms of mileage. I'd personally get the belts done and then enjoy seeing the next four years in - without even breaking 30k mileage! :)
D.
Surely if this legislation went through, then manufacturers would just make the standard cars louder? I mean, the standard 182 exhaust (like mine) sounds absolutely s**t. It's quiet, too muted and gives very little audio feedback in the cabin that you're driving anything remotely special.
This...
^^^ - Steering Paedo Bear makes itself be known.....
Gutting, rexe. :dapprove: Hopefully the reapirs won't be too much and that it can be back on the road, soon enough? Try not to give up on it just yet!

Thing is Lee, what else is there in the back to nick other than a few bits of piping!
Gotta to agree with you on the Reno staff that had the balls to make this car. Hats off to them!
D.
Shhhhhsh! That's a swear-word to Lee. He'd never get one anyway - just because he'd know that I'd have been right all along! ;)
Great pics. The R26R just looks ace. I didn't realise that it came with no stereo? Awesome! Focused ideas and ditching any additional weight - FTW!
D.
Good turnout - and it was nice to see that once in a while (though bloody rarely) - Turner's RB motor does actually get dirty. I know, I couldn't quite believe it myself. ;)
Once again, I was in awe of the Mk1 Clios. Proper flame-spitting blat-mobiles that sounded awesome on full chat. Made the...
