Looks a nice clean car.
As already said really, don’t go mad. The most I would suggest is a set of wheels, insurance dependant. Check to see if they will hike your premiums up for changing them first.
When my missus kept complaining about her laptop I stuck a SSD in it and it solved everything.
I’m yet to see Windows 10 run well on a mechanical drive tbh.
One thing you can try is changing the delivery optimisation in the updates section on settings. It defaults to using your pc for sending...
I’ll be of no help here whatsoever.
But, if you’re looking at keeping the car original then I’d go down the route of rebuilding the head. At least you’ll know it’s been done properly.
As already said, too many people throw these engines away only to stick one in which they don’t really know...
That’s fair enough, I can’t imagine they’re the easiest of things to get hold of.
I do miss driving one of these though, they’re a proper laugh even as standard.
@Phase1sr
Had the latest issue of Custom PC come through today and it contains a 10 page pc building “masterclass”.
Well worth a look seeing as you’ve not done it before.
I had one of the original H80’s and the pump died after about 4 years. The new ones are much quieter and more efficient.
As for only needing a 1060 - you’re right, but a 1070 means everything can be turned up to ultra and he can make the most of the 144hz refresh rate. That’s what I do.
Also...
I remember trying to start up Forza when it first appeared on Windows 10. I had 8gb of RAM and it wouldn’t let me open the game, I had to set up a decent sized page file on the HDD to get it to run.
Just noticed the motherboard hasn’t got WiFi built in so that’s something to consider. I’ll blame the football, I was half watching it whilst doing the list ?
It’s got a better graphics card, cpu cooler and power supply. There’s also more than double the storage space.
Like I said, you can still look through and change some bits for cheaper if needed.
I also haven’t put a copy of Windows 10 on the list.
That’s an example of what you can get for your money.
I would get a copy of Custom PC and having a look at what they recommend for different price ranges. Obviously nothing is definitive, but it’s a good guide on what’s worth buying. If you can’t find the magazine then drop me a pm.
Nice, I’d get a 1070 minimum for a graphics card tbh.
That’s what I run with a similar monitor and it flys along in every game I’ve tried.
I’ll have a proper look later and do a list if no one else has. You definitely get more for your money building it yourself.
