I agree about the chav comments, stupid and un-called for, the very thing thats wrong with this forum.
Anyway, the reason i suggested heat-soak is comment in most after market filters as they arent suited to the engines throttle system (i may be wrong) let the rolling road do the talking...
If anything Brett, the twingo will now be down on performance, all blow and no go.
Id be suprised if there are any induction kits out there that offer performance gains, most actually do the opposite.
Insurance should be cheaper if you put one on TBH

I ran mine for 14 months (albeit in the phase 1) with no problems whatsoever!
The optic lens is a must, much more prominent than in conventional headlights!

A suggestion toward the ballast getting warm.
I wrapped the ballasts in foam (from a cushion, meant i didnt have to drill any holes) it also stopped it moving anywhere...!
