I drove mine in all weathers and it was fine. It's cheap and cheerful, so it won't matter too much if something happens to it, so don't see why not really. Not the most refined car ever but, like you say, finding something bigger and more comfortable that isn't dull can be difficult.
I do love Clios but the gearboxes appear to be really poor for rallying. Like really poor ?
Is the 02M difficult to fit? Are there any good ratios for it?
It was wet lol.
My first time there but a few people I spoke to said that it was quieter than usual. No surprise given the weather though.
I will definitely go again. Some really stunning cars there.
Will try and put some pictures up in the next couple of days.
Plenty goes on, but a lack of open venues is a huge issue. Most rallies in the south east are held on MoD land, so no spectators.
The MSN Circuit Rally Championship visits Brands Hatch in January and Snetterton in February, but I don't think we are using that as a promotional tool as much as we...
Amazing how long it takes. Been almost a month since my Mondeo got hit. Mine was a definite write-off, so that was sorted pretty quickly, but I dread to think how long the liability business will take. Got a letter from her 'solicitor' claiming all sorts of nonsense, so I can see mine lasting ages.
Yeah Pete was going very well indeed. He did have about 50bhp on our car too, which certainly helps, but he's a good driver for sure.
I think the compact dimension of the Clio really go in its favour. It's a very small car for the class, so nice and light too. Just a shame that the gearboxes...
Ah, you should have come and said hello. I was the one with the beard lol
Yeah looks like you were going really well. Mat isn't super confident in the wet and hasn't really driven the car since last year, so probably not at his best. I think the width of the car can be a bit of a hindrance at...
Well done, sounds like you had fun. What pump are you running?
My advice would be to ditch the Sytec stuff, it's garbage. My friend was running a Sytec filter and pump on his Escort and it caused us endless problems. Fitted a Bosch filter and 044 pump and it's never given a hint of bother.
Sorry that things didn't work out for you Nath, and that I didn't get to come and say hello. Didn't even get to see you out on the stages, as we suffered a few silly little problems throughout the day. Sounds like you were going really well though!
Yeah it does seem to go well really. Last year was a shame. If it hadn't been for a bit of miscommunication and a stage maximum, we probably wouldn't have been far off a class podium. It seems to be getting fairly reliable now so here's hoping.
Weight is the big one. The 1600 stuff can go...
