From my understanding, its quite simple: If you remove the airbags, you have to have buckets/harnesses/cage - to pass under the 'track car' rules. But if you have a 'track car' it'll have a de-cat, & it'll be a friendly MOT anyways lol.

The filter falls apart and gets sucked into the engine. From my limited mechanical knowledge, ive been informed thats not good.

So then, thanks in part to the man above, the car is now fixed, wahoo. As per usual, I could have fixed it far cheaper by replacing just the one inner CV joint, but it simply made more sense to replace both the drive shafts. Yes, it did cost me a few hundred more, but the job was easier and...

Bare in mind that in the US, the car is marketed as follows: So the figures being thrown around in 'overboost' by the press are highly likely.
