Nipped to the local lighthouse at high water today for a few long exposure shots. Think this is my favourite of the set.

Because of the Notes insane spec. Obviously...
The z3 has a similar spec, but iirc, it's not flagship enough for Gally.
I'd be waiting for the new Nexus before anything now.
Cheers Tony.
I need to go back there in the daytime to scope the pylons out again. I'm sure that there is a longer row which I couldn't see in the pitch black. Good job it's only half hour away from mine.
Those two will come hand in hand. You won't get L before the new Nexus.
There is talk of a Google event on October 16th with the new Nexus phone being available from November 1st then the L update being sent out soon after for other users.
It'll also show the new tablet made by HTC.
A star trail from last night. 106 x 30 second exposures. ISO 3200. F4 @10mm

And the same place as my post from this morning. Trying to line the pylon up when I noticed the streak of light. Just glad the camera was shooting at the point. Cropped slightly...
It can make them noisy but it shouldn't do that too much given it was outside in the day time. Maybe your aperture was wrong or you had a too high shutter speed causing the iso to go really high.
I don't know the camera so can't comment on iso handling.
I can shoot night shots though at 3200...
If you are willing to spend the money on a 6 then you pretty much have the options of any handset (based on price)
If you want to go Android then I'd give the Nexus 5 a shot. Still a very capable phone.
There's the LG G3, the Note (although a new one is out soon) and the M8.
The Nexus...
Yeah she went to the CPW but they said they couldn't Pre order just yet. She's waiting for a call back about it though. If she hasn't heard anything by Saturday then I think she's going in to a store.
Should be able to pick up a Nexus for that budget.
After a very quick look I found a Nexus 4

Slightly better one (no scratches/cracks etc) for £20 more...
One from today. Completely cocked up the tides though. I'll be back again later in the week I think, possibly for sunset.

I'm not sure, without rooting it, you will be able to delete a lot of the installed software. The touchwiz etc
My mate left it on his so he can use the pen and some of the other features (he has a note 2)
Post pics up if you want.
I'd just concentrate on shooting using AV as it will set everything else for you, and keep the iso on auto for now.
Have a good read of the stickies on here there's a lot of useful info.
I've just double checked my other Canon lens, it a 75-300. Super s**t.
How about a 24-70 & 70-200? If you need the extra length maybe an extender?
I've looked at the 70-200 2.8 recently, the Sigma version is pretty cheap (around £800)
The Tamron 70-200 2.8 is on Amazon now for £511 (Non IS)...
It all depends how much you want to spend.
I have the same camera as you (for the moment) and I have a selection of lenses. A 55-250 is pretty cheap and for the money (around £100 ish), a brilliant lens. I also have a 70-300 but its awful quality and super slow to focus. Both Canon (I got the...
I still get emails through Gmail too. I think its just that you need to have a Yahoo account /email to start a new Flickr.
You'll need a tripod for doing pretty much any long exposure shot. If it's dark enough though you can get shorter long exposures without a filter by making the f number go...
What lens do you have? Just a kit lens? 18-55?
To achieve a blurry background you need to bring your f number down as low as it will go (shooting using AV mode on the dial) but you'll need a decent distance between the subject and background for a decent amount of but. The 50mm 1.8 is...
Well, that comparison says the Note wins the first few but seems to favour the Z3 towards the end. Very little in it, depending how you use your phone.
I must have missed it when you said you were considering a Note.
My mate has a Note 2 and its big. A lot bigger than my Nexus 5 but the dual...
