Last night was a last minute clear skies chase. Didn't have enough time for a star trail but did manage to fire off a few shots.
This is a 4 shot panoramic, all shot in portrait. f/2.8, ISO 3200, 25 seconds. Stitched using Microsoft ICE and tweaked in Photoshop.

I've noticed a massive difference in the pictures between my 550 and the Mrs' 50.
Both on the same lens, same aperture, iso etc her colours are more vibrant.
Have you tried using a custom white balance in the camera? A plain white sheet of paper in good light?
I need to buy a monitor...
Cheers Brazo. I really need to invest in a monitor. Using my laptop, it looked OK, a tad under but enough to live with.
Cheers Ben. I didn't have to do anything apart from convert it to Jpeg. The colours were awesome that evening, especially with the long exposure and No filter.
I like your...
Camera update is available.
There is a new background blur feature (not that great) and they have taken the timelapse option from video.
Layout has changed too.
Cheers :)
Also made the Telegraph too. The editor must have liked it a bit more as it's number 19 on this one :p

One of my images made the Mail online today. I entered it in to The Societies landscape competition a while back and it was highly commended.

And 4 stacked shots of the ISS pass last night. I should try one exposure again but last time I tried it it went horribly wrong!

What make of lens is it?
I've got a Sigma 17-35 f2.8 and it seems the blades are stuck at 2.8 :(
Going to cost a hundred from sigma to get it repaired but looking on eBay, I'm not sure it's worth it.
I've looked a few times at making the jump to full frame from my 550d and I just can't justify the spend at the moment . I could afford a second hand 5d mk2 body but then I'll be stuck with my 50mm 1.8 and my sigma 17-35 2.8 and I'd want a zoom.
I'll have to have a think next year, see how my...
One from a while back that I found on a hard drive.
Had another go at editing it. Turned out better this time imo, think I over saturated it last time.

Picked up assassin's creed on eBay last night for £30 with the DLC pack (apparently).
Be good to see it on the 4. Enjoyed it on the PS3 but didn't get anywhere near finishing it.
Well done Matt. Interesting theme, will have to have a good think for this one.
Edit: it seems that there is a lot of dodgy images if you search vintage on Flickr. I advise you not to do the search on works computer...
Gave time stacking a try the other night. This is 31 images stacked in photoshop, the top layer lightened then compressed, then repeat the process. I have some places in mind for this, I just need decent clouds and colour in the sky.
Lol. Magic lantern.
It's for Canon camera's. It's software that you keep on the memory card and it gives you more options in camera. Different iso settings, custom kelvin levels for white balance, built in intervalometer for timelapse, silent shutter, focus options etc.
I've heard good things...
