    I was in Sevenoaks, Kent, but now live in Laindon, Essex :) With a steady motorway run I would expect to see 37-40mpg ish. I used to see 42mpg easy on my motorway runs.

    The lights do swap straight over but the wires need changing over - there is a guide on here but you'll need to pay your membership fee! The ph1 sports had the dual optic lamps - might find someone breaking one.

    I think the only way to check it is to change it for a new one or by putting it on the CLIP machine.

    Could be a caliper sticking causing more wear than necessary, do as dannycivic says and jack the rear up and spin the wheels ( without the handbrake on obviously)!
