    Quick detailer

You know my thoughts on Werkstat sealants as a whole. Just didn't get on with it. Interestingly John or Clark at PB also had initial issues but rectified it. Of course when I asked on DW I was hushed ;)

    Quick detailer

I have the same setup as Dave (quelle surprise) with a wet QD/drying aid (Meg's last touch no16) and protection (Z8/carb spritz/C2 diluted 1:1).

    ANY GOOD??

Yeah, as with most things you get what you pay for. It's very slick, regardless of water hardness. People not in the know (including me years ago!) judge a shampoo on how much it suds up. BTBM doesn't foam as much as others I've used, but it is one of the most slick, slickest? Wever.

    ANY GOOD??

Megs Gold Class was fine when I was a detailing noob. Trouble was, I bought a job lot off of eBay so had to get through it! BTBM is one of the best. CSWalmsley, yes.

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

'Cause I'm such a baller, I buy it in 5x1l increments, rather than 5l, so spend more money. Precisely, Tob.

    Rotary vs DA polisher choice

That's a rotary, Clart - and that one has been replaced by the better 801 machine. It depends on your outlook. If you are confident in your abilities, and know what to look out for and have a paint depth gauge, it's a great machine. If you are, as you say, a newb, I'd go for the DAS6 Pro.

I'll sell it, buy another 4s and make some money. Win win.

    Sim180 or ep801?

Yeah bonnet and roof are no worries. It's the flanks that really take their toll on my. Might give the R8 an Amigo/Glasuring (no polishing) to let me arms cool down lol. DA heaven!

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Yeah 3.02 and FF are great polishes, but I'm not so sure on the pads. Weird combo because compounding is really something reserved for rotaries in my mind. The 3M kit really is best for "newbs", as it's colour coordinated. Buy from I4D as they are superb, but try and get the 3M pads and polishes...

Same boat Dave. What do you get from orange out of interest? Voda is £278 which isn't bad.

Misano Red V6 TT vs PMG/Vics Red...

THANK YOU! Looks good mate. And yes, RMG and Vics is a great combo, shame it just doesn't last more than about 2 months! Looking forward to Amigo and Glasur in comparison.

    Crappy afternoon cleaning the car.

So what exactly are you asking? Because at the moment, I don't know whether it's your wash technique, your polishing (and guessing you don't either as you don't sound sure about the results?) or whether something/someone has damaged your car while it was tucked away?!

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Yes the paint is hard. You'll get somewhere with a DA but it will need a lot of patience. You'd be able to stay on top of the swirls with a DA but a full correction is likely to take several passes. Mine was in a state, and like yours is a colour that shows every little mark. I'm glad I've...
