I would agree on the colours (Monaco, Flamer) but it depends on whether he will mod it. If it is being kept as standard, I would go for lower miles, this less likely to go wrong (har har famous last words).

They are rare, but TBH Toby, they will get knackered again very quickly with your check list. Suggest if it bothers you about resale issues, look for a set when you want to sell. Don't bother now.

Stuart, is the creaking coming from inside the car or definately from the top mounts/suspension? The only reason I ask, over time (having had coilovers and solid top mounts fitted) because the setup is soooo tight, the steering column creaks. Simple spot of WD40 under the steering wheel/above...

Scrappy, ebay, here. Or just take them out. The reason will be either lowered car, spacers, or just taking corners too quickly ;) They are only plastic. It will not affect the car.
