No, i'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that a standard 172 sounds sh*t when ragged, which imo it does ! Iridium (dan) said that also a vee doesn't sound that good above 6k either, I said I agreed.

Either look out for a nice set from another 172 (or vee) or refurb your ones. The top layer does flake off yeah. That's all you can do really.

I think that the slr 'turbine' wheels look great on them:) They look crap without them that's for sure. They are a 7k option too !!:eek:

Close, there are eight acid yellow vees, one was crashed (it belonged to tapias on here) The 'un heard of v6 colours' thread is pretty good for some rare examples. As said James has the only deep bronze one, there is a moonlight blue one too (iirc a woman from renault owned it) Illiad...

How anyone can take a standard 172 to 5k revs or more is beyond me, they sound absoloutely awful !! There is nothing good about the noise the car makes at all, nor is there anything thing good about the '5k kick' that most seem to get off over on here. Also if you drive past someone doing over...

To make them work your going to need something else orange on the car. Even then they may still look naff.

You need to thrash the absolute nuts out of the car to get it to come on, so much so that the car will sound awful inside.
