Even just a Tardis style can smooth the paint so much, Srp should cleanse the paint well enough. Great all round cheaper product. Maybe get 2 Microfibre pads to work the SRP well.

Soft soaping just means hiding the bad points. Making them seem okay.
The seat repair is easy, it's only if the Alcantara rips you're in bother. They de-bobble so well. I loved mine. :(
They don't actually rot that bad. It's people not keeping the arches free from salt is the issue.
If there is rust you'll see it from the outside.
