    New addition..

Yeah that's true. One of the reasons I got a Clio is because its cheap. But surely the cost of consumables on one premium car is going to be the same or less than several Clios!

    New addition..

E46 M3. Or tune the R26 up a bit and get some ASTs and bigger front brakes.

    New addition..

Why spend money on a load of old Clios when you could get something really decent instead?!

    frazjam's Ph1 172

Looks good, need to fit mine this weekend. I bet it's easier than doing the bonnet.

Ultimate’s 172 Show Car Project Thread Hydrodipped and Vinyl Wrapped.

I've seen a nice E46 M3 in that shade of blue wrap, it looks amazing. Can't wait to see the Clio finished.

    Bushes....Standard vs Aftermarket

On mine I've got standard wishbone and steering rack bushes, solid top mounts, Vibratechnics engine mounts and a yellow Powerflex dogbone mount. Its perfect, nice to drive with no vibrations.

Ph1 172 Track Car. Next Year I Go Racing - Hopefully!

I run a 4.07, its nice on the road and good enough on track days but for racing something a bit shorter would be better, see James's offer below ;)

    Cooksport Springs vs Eibach Sportlines??

I don't find the Cooksports crashy. As an all round spring they are brilliant. I fitted them originally with new cup shocks, I have since fitted Koni yellows which improved the ride further. Standard shocks I feel would not give enough damping at the cup shocks were just about good enough...

Anyone ever made a front splitter?

I think you did it first. The lines of yours look better than the orange one.

    S1600 rear spoiler

I have evidence of a bergrennen Clio to disprove this. Hence wanting one!

    S1600 rear spoiler

I came across that one. The only issue is it doesn't show how it fits. I assume once fitted it would sit the same as the actual S1600 item?

    Wheel width, speak to me.

I find 195 best of a 6.5j and 205 on a 7j. Although it does depend on the tyre.

    S1600 rear spoiler

I've noticed some fibreglass copies you can get from rally suppliers but how do these mount compared to a genuine one? I know prima racing do a similar one but I don't like the look of it, it sticks up too much. Anyone know where to source a S1600 type spoiler? And to avoid the 'it'll look...

Cupman29 made one. See page 20 of his thread

Abs to non abs (cup) parts list

I can lock up with sticky tyres on track on a hot dry day! I've just got restrictors to go on the rear off another fwd non-abs car, they go inline with the master cylinder and the brake pipes.

Abs to non abs (cup) parts list

Cheers Mick. What are the benefits then? I can lock up the ABS so as far as I'm concerned it's just added weight.

Michelin energy saver or Goodyear efficient grip for dci clio?

I'll repeat. Bluresponse. Best all round day to day tyre I've ever used. http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-article/test-of-summer-tyres-2013-size-195-65-r15-v-what-tyres-should-i-buy http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127296...

Michelin energy saver or Goodyear efficient grip for dci clio?

I'd get neither and go for Dunlop Bluresponse instead. Awesome all round tyres.

    Project mk1 FRS

You could do, it certainly wouldn't do any harm.

    Ktec droop

That's the one. I've got some spare silicon hose I can cut up. I'll try that when I get the car back.
  28. Ph1 Tom

    Ktec droop

That's why I was thinking of getting the self amalgamating tape and clamping onto that. Shouldn't slip then I've got a poly mount, that's not the problem. It's the hanger that's the problem.
  29. Ph1 Tom

    Ktec droop

Oh its tight and in the right place where I can get it tight, just over time it slips slightly, only makes it droop 10-15mm lower but its annoying. I'd take a pic if the car was at home. That's not the issue, that's the exhaust mount. The issue is the hanger on the box slipping. Says the man...

    Ktec droop

I should point out it the hanger that goes around the backbox.
