Will have your bonnet release cable going through it. Just tape your cable to a screw driver and poke it through, you should then be able to see from the engine bay so just pull it through. Job done :approve:

Leaning towards the D70s cause the lens will be cheaper and it has more features. Just tying to find a comparison of the 2 so I can see if there is any difference in picture quality, the D40 is a couple of generations newer so I would imagine they would have made some improvements.
