Thought of having a go yourself first? I'm currently in the process of doing my 172 wheels. Save yourself a lot of money if they come out well. And with you doing the prep work you get to make sure they're done to a standard you are happy with.
To answer your question, yes 150 is pretty cheap.
Make sure you take mugglesquop's advice though mate.
Write down everything you can remember about it.
Time
Weather
etc
etc
Don't just print out that link mate, or if you do, draw on it with a marker to make it clear where exactly it happened etc.
Sounds like he was in the wrong mate, wrong...
Cheers, I do flat the primer before colouring, but when I've used metalic paint in the past, flatting the paint before lacquer has resulted in the paint losing its metalic look.
Bit scared to flat it if I do use a metalic colour. (still undecided what colour I'm using)
Cheers for the advice...
Yeah thats kinda my thinking on the 172 wheels, the 182 ones and trophy ones look right in anth, just not so sure about the 172 ones, especially on my colour, on silver/black on the other hand...
That sparkling silver looks mint mate. Totally torn whether to go anth or silver. Came out of the petrol station today and couldnt help but think the silver/white look of the lights and the silver of the wheels works really well together.
Fixed this today, turned out to be me not plugging the 6x9's back in very well on the bulb connectors.
This resulted in some interference from having open metal connections so close to eachother (less than 1mm apart) took apart and plugged back in properly, solved.
Loving the 2118's on the RB, think anthracite makes it look much more masculine than white!
Tommyg's car is my car idol until I can afford a 172, ride height, colour coding, spot on.
Ah mate, that's real bad luck, although leaving bits in there, when going somewhere like wembly wasn't the best idea. But you only learn by experience.
If you ever wanna leave anything in the motor just hide it, i.e under the boot carpet, in the spare wheel well. Or there are bits of the dash...
I'd love to for the tyres, but I prefer the 172 alloys, sorry :(
I'm thinking about chickening out and going for a silver :(
I'm gonna paint one either Polaris or Graphite Grey and put it on, see what I think.
Anyone got a silver colour suggestion that look good??
This commences tmrw! Bit...
Ermmmm, I had some work done there a while back I'll try to find the recipt, if not I'm sure I can find them through yell. Think its probably the same place as your talking about mate. I'll let you know later.
Yeah i bought the dual optics off of him a week or so ago mate.
There is a renault specialist in sidcup that's quite good, one of the guys that works there has a 172, might be worth giving them a call?
Ok so I've done bits and bobs of spraying in the past but just wanted to clear up a few questions before I set about refurbing my own wheels for the first time...
Firstly, I know you sand down after filler, and primer, but then if you sand down after painting even with a 2000 grit, do you not...
Jesus christ that's in bad condition...
Paintwork - awful
Interior - awful
Boot doesnt open
Needs two new tyres
Could be purchased and broke though! Get it off the road and maybe make a quid or two (two birds with one stone)
All of these mk1 threads are upsetting me!!! I've wanted a 1*2 for god knows how long, but I'm slowly being converted.
Lovely pair of motors, new one looks in top condition. Where do you find these for sale? Not seen a lot on PH etc.
