I think the coolant temp sensor is ok, as it still seems to read correctly and normally sits at the halfway mark. I have unplugged it ( I’ve heard this should make the fan come on) and it doesn’t. I just removed this from plug from the back of the radiator fan, it looks like it’s had better...

As above, even when the car starts to overheat. So it’s defiantly not working. What fuse is for the radiator fan?

My clio is stripped out with roll cage etc, and I find the PMS system with silencer fairly quiet (currently running it unslicened) and it sounds a lot better than my old Ktec stealth.

I think my issue is caused by a worn bush. I’ll let you know if I find the cause of the problem Sam.

I find my PMS with a centre silencer quite quiet, but I guess that’s subjective. I would go down the custom made exhaust route, then you can get exactly what you want.

Mine also centres without any problems. I am having issues with my PMS shifter/linkage popping out of reverse though atm :(

Mine did this a while back. You just need a new switch, from Renault or a breaker yard.

Fully soft on the front, and 8 clicks from soft on the back iirc.

Go for the DR variant. I agree with James 7/8kg front 8kg rear. I am currently finding mine a lot harder than my old H&Rs. I have only done around 150 miles with them fitted so I presume they’re still bedding in.

Sounds like a loose gearbox mount worn/ damaged gear linkage, or maybe the last gearbox rebuilt done 5k ago was poor. Imo the JC5 is a more than adequate gearbox when running standard power. Iirc I got around 138k out of my gearbox before it needed a rebuild.

Why don’t you want to buy them from Renault?

I mount mine on my roll cage.

I forget to add, I refitted the unsilenced centre section a while back. Once I refit the silenced centre section again ( before my next track day) I’ll do a video Chris.

I still think Cat cams 421/438 would be better, but for the money grp N timing and 197 cams seem to be getting great results! Stuart @ Performance car specialist in Popham are fitting the coilovers/ corner weighing mate.

Update: Got some millers oil for a oil/ filter change. Resprayed/ painted the inlets rocker cover with Hamerite silver paint. And finally purchased some new coilovers BC/ DR 8kg front 8kg rear springs, with adjustable top mounts. The car is currently away having the above coilovers...

Oreca make a 2.25 group N exhaust, they’re very raspy.

Update. Had the car 5 months now done 3,600 miles so far and am still very much enjoying driving/ owning it. CS Surrey Rolling Road day last Saturday, where she made good power/ torque, a few pics of the M2 and RR graphs below.

Dodgy thermostat can cause these symptoms.

Better cold start, raised rev limit, and can be used as a diagnostic too. So for the money they’re very good! I had good customer service from Henk too.
