I painted mine with a brush with Dulux gloss. Less than a litre was used, did a few coats too. The finish is good and many people have complimented it. And you have a tin of paint for touch up as it is inevitable to get marked.
Although I would reccomend fitting some form of matting in the...
Yeah I haven't touched ride height, but now I know it needs doing as I noticed the other drive shaft has done the same. Presume it is an eay job to do, like wheel off and move the right adjuster nut thing? Or do I need to remove the lower shock bolts? I have never changed ride height on any car!
Bought some Ferodo DS2500 pads and had a bit of issue fitting them.
I removed some of the paint/material on the ends to get them to fit
Managed to get them into the calipers after a very long time and a lot of struggle but they wouldn't slide. Got annoyed as the car needed to be working so...
Did a but of work on the car this weekend...changed the front discs and pads. Wanted to remove the arch linings at the same time to clean the crud from behind, but ran out of time. Plus one of the lining bolts was about to round off and I didn't have a replacement.
Old stuff ready to come off...
If you are going to take the sound deadening off the roof with a heat gun, make sure there is no moisture on the outside on top of the roof.....my roof was wet and I burnt water marks into the lacquer and the roof was ruined.
Not done much on the car last weekend. I did get the roof wrapped as I sort of ruined it - never use a heat gun on the inside of the roof if the outside is wet, I burnt water marks into the lacquer. I couldn't get a picture of it, but no one had seen anything like it. But now it is black. It...
It's meant to be a pure track car....but I do drive it when I can as I enjoy it so much!
This is why I don't want to waste time, effort and money on powder coating if it is going to be pointless. The dream would be a second set of wheels where I would not care about, I would just spray them...
I may get my brother to have a go at cleaning them. He loves cleaning cars. I know he has some wheel cleaner as I bought it for him! If this doesn't work then they are getting recoated.
The rattle can plus protection is looking likely as TEG said use and abuse FTW haha. I want it looking...
That sounds like the stuff to use! I just want to add a layer to stop things 'touching' the paint work, if that makes sense?
I am also thinking painting to save the money for other stuff. It's never going to win any Concourse contests! It was the lack of paint and then protection that hasn't...
Painted my wheels two years ago with normal aerosol cans. They were lacquered and the finish on them was good when they were done. However in hindsight I probably should have put more paint on them (one wheel has more paint on and is easier to clean) and probably should have coated them with wax...
Got the pictures from my Step Dad. Somehow not the best quality, they looked really good on his phone.
The Imprezza got the BTCC treatment....wasn't moving over for me so I turned on the lights. It worked. Probably bit of a dick move on my behalf but he was just getting in the way. I...
Did a track day at Llandow yesterday. Was pretty damn good. Arrived and there were loads of other Clios ther, this got me worried as I knew I was going to be shown up. However, this was not the case which really surprised me!!
Team Tango.
Car was faultless. I could really push it yesterday...
I am currently saving for ITB's. But the set up I want is the "Performance Engine Build 2" from Engine Dynamics for the block as my +168k miler I have in it probably wont last long with any more power! The power figure I am after is ~210bhp I think I will need a rebuilt engine and cams, which I...
I cable tied mine to the old air box stap mount. But did two so it was being pulled from both directions so is like tight and not just loose in one direction.
It's sent as an attachment, I just haven't opened it.
I am pretty certain it is dodgey, just couldnt get any clarification on their help searches.
edit - I have actually read the email properly, I didnt see it said downloaded. Sure its a link to a webpage as it is a html file. Yeah, I am now...
Got what I think is a phishing scam e-mail from alert-180422@hotmail.com saying:
It also wasn't sent to my junk folder too which most of the phising e-mails do. It has no graphics or other marking on it, it is just text. Not being a moron I have not opened the "hotmail.html" attachment. I have...
Actually not a bad idea. That sounds just like what I want to do as I was worried black roof and then an extra 15-20cm of black down the window. But would have thought a complete orange one would be silly. (because orange wheels and mirrors are not silly!).
I've got the H&R bolt to hub spacers on my Ph1 track car, had no issues so far with them. They are checked often to make sure.
IIRC all the H&R ones come with a steel thread insert so you aren't fastening a steel bolt into aluminium, which is a big no.
But from what has been said here and...
What is wrong with the inside of the windscreen? But the camera needs to be upside down to fit, but IIRC GoPros can record upside down so you don't have to do any post processing.
Can also turn the camera around to get a good shot of the inside and driver/passenger.
I also think someone has...
As the title suggests! Roof is going black this month (sending a few messages now) but I also need a sun strip as some muppet (me) removed the sun visors when the car went on a diet.
I was thinking a black sun strip, but with the black roof I was a bit uncertain if it would make the roof look...
Didn't think about sealing them after with silicone, that isn't a bad shout!
What I'll probably do it get some grommets and then give them to whoever wraps the roof to put in aafter so it's a neat finish. I would wrap it myself by after the botched sun strip I am not doing a roof!!
Removed the ariel and it's left two small hols (4mm and a 10mm). Currently it is gaffa tapped up, but I am getting the roof wrapped as water marks have burnt into the lacquer and its cheaper than getting it painted, it's a track car so would rather spend the money on performance upgrades.
So...
