    197 Head and Internals in a 172

Well you've got to overcome the belt tensioner if you skim too much off the block. Difficult to say the power output, but maybe 220bhp. Depends on if the pistons will hold out tbh.

    197 Head and Internals in a 172

If your going to all that effort why not stick forged pistons in? The oe inlet will be the restriction as well even with the lairy cams.

    The worst Nurburgring driver ever?

Lol I'm still 25mph off the speed that Jann Mardenborough was at when he took off at flugplatz. @Knuckles heres the current speed limits and where they are located. Being lifted for 2016 apparently as they're smoothing out flugplatz as 1 of 16 improvements to the circuit for safety reasons.

    The worst Nurburgring driver ever?

It's a one way de-restricted toll road. There were only speed limits in one section (breidscheid/adenau bridge), but after the gtr took off and killed a spectator, they've added a few more in.

gear box oil leak from gear selecta

It's a plastic coating on the 5th gear selector fork itself mate. 1st and 2nd gear selector fork has it as well, but 3rd and 4th gear don't. It's just a bare brass selector fork.

    How to reduce caster?

Yeah you can fit Ast top mounts mate. I'm trying to figure out how you've got too much castor from fitting coilovers though? Doesn't make sense.

    How to reduce caster?

What wishbones have you got fitted? If they're cup ones you can fit non cup items instead. Or you need adjustable top mounts.

    172 cup altenator change

Is it a proper cup or a cc equipped one? If it's a proper cup they're easy as dan says. Cc equipped not so much. Lol! You can get at everything nice and easy with the bonnet up

    172 cup altenator change

Spray the nut for the power cable with wd40 or similar now as well! They're normally seized on solid!

    RS2 Inlet Ebay?

I'm not bringing that into question mate, and I can understand why you felt like that, I just felt that stepping in when I did saved the thread from diverting away from the rs2 chat.

    RS2 Inlet Ebay?

I was pre empting the way it could've potentially gone mate. I agree that yes you did ask a perfectly good question, it was more the reply to it.

    RS2 Inlet Ebay?

If this turns into a willy waving competition etc, it'll be locked and points given out. I'd rather it doesn't go to that so just keep it civil please gents.

    Track phase 182

If those are some of the brackets that are now available, I think I'll stick to the proper ones I'll be having made. There's zero strength in them whatsoever! There's nothing for the caliper bolts to thread into for a start!!

TRACK TROPHY 381 – PROGRESS TO DATE

Service requirements on the grippers aren't too horrendous now that they've changed to the new style of plates mate. They will lose their effectiveness over time, but that's more down to how much lock up you want them to have. On a trackday car I'd expect the gripper to need the plates...

Oh and 24mm thick for the bracket with the threaded hole smack bang in the middle, so 12mm. The caliper holes are 14mm as well

    What is this sensor?

That's the idle speed control valve. I don't know how much they cost to replace though I'm afraid.

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

Well I can only speak for the Scania boxes, so the answer is no not really. They all come from new with what's known as an opticruise gearbox. All that is, is a manual box with air operated selectors and a electronically actuated clutch, so it's a glorified manual box essentially. You have to...

Trust me mate, it does get very boring when you do it day in, day out. I get the variety of gearbox rebuilds and stuff so it takes some of the monotony away.
