    I'm using iStat to monitor and SMCfancontrol to override the system settings for the fans. I think it was the ambient temperature in my office during that hot weather he've had. It's pissing down today and it's running a DVD next to me at 44 degrees. :cool: Maybe I'll open the window more...

    It's anodised Aluminium, it's not a paint finish so it's very hard-wearing. That's a new top case, mate. Get yourself booked in. As long as there are not signs of abuse, they should replace that under Applecare.
