Can you not fit the outer and inner cv joints to the car without the shafts, and jack it up, then rest it down on its wheels on say four ramps, then you can measure the exact length youll need, you might get away with machining say 5 to 7 mm of each end

Just use it and maintain it like any other car, life is far to short and you'll likely regret not just having fun with it and worrying about what it will be worth when your 69, get rid of the yellow one and go and enjoy it, that's what it was made for, I just rebuilt the full underside of my...

    Clio turbo misfire/running rich

no just cut the kinked section/area out and tape the pipe back together to see if it sorts the issue, if it does then carry out a permanent repair :)

    loose gearlever

It most likely will be wear and tear, I fitted the yanoo kit with brass bushes (fast road kit 1) and it feels so much better and precise, its tight once fitted but loosens up after a few miles, think it was around £50/60 quid or so

172 cup inner steering arm size

The tie bars for a 172 cup are longer than standard 172,s, pretty sure they are 310mm long, I ordered some qh ones a few months back of eBay, I'd need to check my emails,

Well it's turbo time advice on doing it with sm inlet pls

Buy any of the kits, it's only a slight modification to the pipe work required which is not rocket science

Clutch change and now can't select all gears.

grab selector and put it in fifth gear (twist fully to drivers side and pull towards rear of the car) then slide the clamp over and position it in 5th gear from under the car, then just nip the bolt up, 10 minute job

Remove the home made bolt holding the swing arm, lubricate it and work up and down, it's likely seized, I was having the same issues so just renewed the whole lot, pipes, flexi's, compensator, callipers etc all round, should be trouble free for a few years
