The hydraulic/oem rack has a pinion with torsion damper on it which gives a dead spot before turning. If going manual or epas, fit a dci rack as they dont have it and they have solid subframe mounts instead of the bushed oem setup. 1.2 rack also has more turns lock to lock than oem or dci.

100%, them cheap 2" plate type are sketchy at best

Febi type d is usually readily available and same as oem type d if you need any in the future.

Fuse blowing instantly indicates a short to earth. Lambda wiring all good pre sensor and not melted etc? Try unplugging vvt etc in the off chance something has died and shorting out.

Silver or white for me. Anthracite if you cant be arsed cleaning them, as silver and white will be pitted after one press of the brakes.

Updates. A few bits have arrived for fuel system upgrades. Nuke 3ltr surge pot, walbro 420lph fuel pump and aem fuel pressure regulator. The Nuke surge pot is a nice bit of kit, really well made, worth the money imo. Thanks for reading!!

As above check hub nut torque, spacers shouldnt make an issue unless wheel was nearly falling off. Wiggle test 12-6pm to check for play, if still has play will be bearing issues.

Body swap is a massive job for an experienced fabricator. Not worth the time and expense, never be properly road legal without a massive amout of work.

Yeah solid top mounts will defo add to nvh. I run oem top mounts on my bilsteins as i didnt want to drill the strut top. Quite good on oem too no complaints.

Bc's are s**t for road use sadly. The adjusters dont do much, its either soft or hard. Cooksport showed me one on a damper dyno and the rebound done nothing for a few clicks. I actually hated the set of bc's i put on my old 250 cup. I also rate the bilstein b14 for road use. Plenty firm enough...

The hesitation from cold is usually due to oem mapping to warm cat up. Worse in winter when the engine takes longer to warm up, less of an issue on hotter days when engine comes up to temp fast.

Thats not a bad list to be fair, no welding or nowt simple bolt on bits. Ive had a caliper seize after being in the brake rollers. s**t happens, i think they get a bit more load on them when testing.

Heat also kills the continental engine ecu on megane 3 rs, coincidence i guess but maybe not as well engineered as sagem etc. Anybody found out what breaks in the tcm yet?

I seen some interior plastics on an aventime that had the same issue with worn soft touch. They cleaned it off and sprayed it in plastidip. Looked quite good, like oem. If you could find a suitable match, it might work.
