I remember looking at those photos when i first joined CS!! I bought my 18 month old RB182 in September 2005 :)

Funny you should say that ... After a few months of searching, this just popped up on Ebay in Lithuania. Naturally, i bought it straight away: 00596733_2631960990 by Sir_Dave, on Flickr 00596733_1689156219 by Sir_Dave, on Flickr 596733_3222303222 by Sir_Dave, on Flickr I'll still need to...

    BMW gurus

Bit late now, but i always used to run Kumho KU39's or Falken FK452's on my e46's. If you dont like the Uniroyals just take them off and put them on eBay - people always want to save a few quid on tyres.

    I kicked a Skyline's ass part 2

Have a go at this: https://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/calendar/2019/june/27-bhgp-sesh/ Brands Hatch GP is supposed to be very (y)

    I kicked a Skyline's ass part 2

I would thoroughly recommend doing another track Mark, out of all the ones ive done in the UK, i.e. Goodwood, Snetterton, Brands, Bedford, Llandow, Haynes, Thruxton, Donnington, Cadwell & Castle Combe id say its probably in my bottom 3 lol. Its technical in that its high speed and you have to...

Buy an e90 335i they said, it'll be fun they said ...

Ha ha, i try :ROFLMAO: This?: I'll now add that i feel alot of the "issues" people read about with the N54 are due to typical BMW incompetence/customer wanting perfection in the early days (a bit like VANOS on e36's, SMG pumps on the e46, actuators on the e90 etc etc). Slight turbo rattle =...

Buy an e90 335i they said, it'll be fun they said ...

Had some fun with the 335i this week. Was swopping CIC into it and forgot to disconnect the battery ..... Result = short circuit, bricked JBE and me locked inside the car with no power. Being that it was a VERY hot day. I had to smash the window from inside, my foot didnt work, so had to use my...

    The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy

All i can say its that its been a pleasure. The day i collected my first Porsche, in Guards/Trophy Red naturally, was one of the best days of my life. So to be a part in making that happen for you, after all the issues with #165, genuinely makes me so happy ? ... ? ? ? ? ?

Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy-R 2019 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record

It does yes, but to do it in a FWD hot hatch on sticky tyres takes considerably less balls/skill than doing it in something RWD imho. The lap time is very impressive, but it all just leaves me a little cold now ive done a couple of trackdays in something other than the Mini.

Looks like my bean got written off this aft :(

Suggestion 1 - put some carpet in the boot & you wont notice the dent in the floor. Suggestion 2 - fix the bumper in a slightly less pikey way/fit a new one. Id warrant that that car is still in considerably better overall condition than 99% of 1*2's out there :ROFLMAO:

That is a nice spec tbf, assuming it still has the Sachs dampers on it?

Looks like my bean got written off this aft :(

There is quite simply no point selling a car that you have known for years & have maintained exceptionally well, that has had a small accident and is now CAT S, to buy one that is non-categorised, but was possibly drifted (at a mere 13 months old) sideways into a hedge in Wales by a grinning...

    R.S. 18 future classic?

Bit like the initial Clio 200 EDC then, or was that just because they only sold 15 :ROFLMAO: But in answer to your question, no. Generally, cars like the Trophy/CSL/V6 hold their value because they were engineer built cars, not marketing ones. The Megane R26R/Trophy holds it value very well...

More parts fitted over the weekend, mostly little bits that have been annoying me. Both bonnet struts were knackered, so i picked up some new ones - although i forgot to take photos. The tailgate ones were also a tad tired and no longer holding the boot off my head. Untitled by Sir_Dave, on...

    The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy

Sorry to hear this @SharkyUK. As has been said already, part of me wanted to see this completed, but the other half just wanted you to give up on it & move on. I'd try and put it back to standard(ish) if you can, they really do seem to have shot up in price since the days of me buying them...

    Absolute nutters!

Lol, thats was “Revs” ... pretty sure it was an S16 or Xsi, but either way, that photo sequence is probably burned on most 35+ year olds car brains now!! Pistonheads LOOS their long-term 306 Rallye into a hedge fairly recently as well iirc. Edit, found the photos ... Lol

    Absolute nutters!

Drive a 306. Any 306. You will find that the definition of lift off oversteer was written following the launch of said car :ROFLMAO: I nearly crashed my Rallye 2 minutes after picking up for that very reason.

Nothing too exciting, but gave it a quick clean yesterday (estates take way longer than convertibles & saloons though :ROFLMAO:), then coded the digital speedo and the mirrors so that they fold/unfold on the keyfob. After that it was insured/taxed so that i could go for a little drive...

Buy an e90 335i they said, it'll be fun they said ...

Bit of pre-trackday tinkering (doing Goodwood on the 6th May) completed last Thursday, just to make sure its had all its maintenance items done before hand. Firstly, spark plugs. These were apparently only done 25k miles ago by BMW, but when the correct Bosch ZGR6STE2's are only £50 from ECP...

Definately!!! Purely as the manifold and EGR bolts look like they'll be an utter pain to get to lol. Any idea where i can find out the towing weight on the car? The e90 doesnt seemt to have a VIN plate anywhere like the old e46's ... just the number. All i can find online is that it'll do...
