So that's where my PAS pump went... New one in. A little whine from cold but it's not a new pump - anything that isn't actively producing shrapnel is a win. Had to notch the mount as this pump's angle is slightly different. Had to wait a week for washers. Halfords don't sell them...

    The Bandit | Monaco 172

Back to our regular scheduled programming of my car in pieces, only took two hours to replace everything so I am getting better. Just need to grab some new washers for the banjos and send it using the mystery pump. Old Vs new. Liquid pisses out of the spindle when you spin the old one, has...

CLICK, CLICK, BOOM PAS pump blowed up, what a shocker. Was having a nice day up until then. A picture of it not in pieces or on a flat bed to cheer me up

New TRW pads for the rear plus stainless brembo pins to make trackday swaps easier. Rears were starting to seize (probably the rubber swelling). DS1s back in for Pembrey. Another set of brake ducts printing, because why not.

Changing top left gearbox mount, guide?

*the two smaller bolts come out the bottom but you don't need to remove the mount to access those

Changing top left gearbox mount, guide?

Everything should be able to go in through the top. In an ideal world you support the gearbox with a jack, remove the big nut, release the jack and the spindle should drop out. Failing that you may need a hammer to knock the spindle out. In my case I did replace the spindle as the seller...

Changing top left gearbox mount, guide?

As @Steve1986 says no need to remove it. But any questions fire away.

I had the same on my 1.2 but thought it was dead - similar story with the mashed rubber seal. Resistor is a good shout to tidy it all up.

If no EML then just remove the canister and zip-tie the faulty solenoid out the way 👀 Think how much faster it will be with the weight savings

    My cheap(ish) 172 Cup

Carbon canister open to air should throw an EML light if not plugged (I think) - maybe the solenoid is goosed hence it not venting and pressurising the tank. No idea if that's true but it sounds plausible. https://cliosport.net/threads/carbon-canister-and-engine-bay-explanation.842907/

What exactly was changed on the gear linkage? and was it like-for-like? I have come across different versions that are not compatible. To answer your question no that amount of movement is not normal. Regarding the engine knock when moved, it shouldn't do that either. To me it sounds clonky...

    First Car Project - Clio 172 PH1

I take it the car is still up in the air while you sort driveshafts? Sometimes you need a good run with load on the system to get it to settle. I think it took mine a week as a bubble got caught in the heater matrix. It took a few good pulls to get it shifted and the AC would alternate from...

In a perfect world you would sack off the rubber pivot for a Yanoo Stiff Shift kit (which I also really rate) but unfortunately he passed away. There seem to be aftermarket shifters with spherical bearings (that are not PMS) but no idea what they are like

Repair kit no: 7701464111. This will get you all of bits to sort the pivot/bush, lots on Ebay and Autodoc: There is then a set of bushes at the end that attach to the linkage: 7700732903 But I would suggest upgrading these to brass if you are going to the effort of taking it all apart, I...
