    Track car

I would just pick whichever version tickles you the most, they are all good track cars. I've not driven a Meglio as such but I would say this depends on if A. you want a turbo car and B. what track you will most frequently be going to. As an example, if your local track is Blyton Park, you...

    Clio 182 Turbo

I have the paddle version on mine, great on track, not so great on the road although it is useable. https://www.kamracing.co.uk/sachs-performance-clutch-kit-renault-clio-2rs-172-182.html Its heavy still but its more of an on/off engagement. Once its engaged and you are rolling its fine but...

The ‘I was at a car show’ thread

Its because I thought it looked cool with the exhaust....but..the real reason is that when I put the exhaust on, i made a cut out for the tail pipe and did a really bad job, so I went total destruction and removed the full center!

The ‘I was at a car show’ thread

Im in Retford, so not too far out at all. Its the firs time that I've been to it, one of my mates who has the Blue Saxo VTS has been before. I really enjoyed it, a good mix of cars, decent food and its for a good cause, so I'll be back for the next one. Yes..yes I did see that, not sure how...

Extended steering wheel boss / quick release

B&G do an adjustable version so you can dial in exactly where you want it to sit, its not quick release though.

    Exhaust Options

I've got a Piper twin silencer on mine with a de cat and its not loud but, mine is Turbo'd and people reckon that can reduce exhaust noise...cant say I noticed though.

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

I have the twin resonated Piper on mine, I still find it drones a bit but it seems quiet on idle from the back.

    Brembo upgrade worth it?

You'll be fine with the pro race pads, just find a way to keep them cool.

ED low boost kit for a track car?

Mine has a thicker radiator and an oil cooler and managed fine on track. Only issue i has was the coolant bottle lid stilopped venting and the bottle let go but that was a simple enough fix!

Lightened flywheel with ED turbo kit? And which clutch?

I have the Sachs paddle clutch on my 172 turbo with a light flywheel. It's about as heavy as the stock clutch but it's very sharp, you need to keep the revs up. For track work it's great. For maneuvering, it's not the best as you need to keep the revs on more than normal. I'm also...

    Clutch options 182

I find it easy enough to heel and toe. Once you are on the brakes the throttle is in a nice position for a quick blip. As long as your tyres are decent and warm I wouldnt expect you to be locking up on track.

There's a pipe fitting under the moulding where the coilpack is.

Clutch and light flywheel as its all exposed.

    Quaife or Blackline

Actually, im using the MT90, not sure what difference that makes other than it seems to be more expensive.

    Quaife or Blackline

This is what I have, hence a little gutted to flush it out but needs must.

    Quaife or Blackline

Mmm, I see on google it mentions to flush the oil after 500 miles. Better put this on the ever growing list of things...

    Quaife or Blackline

I've got a blackline and its brilliant, seems to be handling the extra power too. Never heard of having to flush the gearbox oil though, where did you hear this @Matt Cup ?

    ED intercooler kit

Wish I had this document when I was doing my conversion! The one that came with the kit was awful!

    ED intercooler kit

Its crude but it terminates near the coilpack if we are talking about the same pipe.

    Caster and Camber

Yeah I got that eventually, same ones I have. Definitely best to give it to a proper alignment shop in my experience. Everything affects everything. So if you add camber you get more toe in (think it's that way around) and vice versa.
  24. the_baron_von_richthofen

    Caster and Camber

To be honest, I'm not sure on caster. Mine has some additional but only because the garage set the mounts up badly. If I was using mine only for fast road use, I'd stick with solid top mounts and not worry about it. I'm not sure additional camber on the road made much difference tbh. I...

    Caster and Camber

Agree with the above. I tried to get my usual garage to do a nice track setup and they really struggled with the castor/camber balance on the top mounts. For reference, I have 3.4deg negative and it's a pig on the road but it only really drives to the track. Personally, I would leave the...

182 Titanium Yorkshire B Road Project

EFA Mine isnt sealed but there has been many car oils all over it. Im shocking when it comes to catching the old oil during a service but my favourite was loosing most of the gearbox oil when the drive shaft fell out during a ball joint change!

    Coilovers options for 172 cup

I know this isnt what you asked, but there really isnt much wrong with Cup dampers and some lowering springs (grams or Cooksport). They are very nice to use on track too. That said, I think the BC's are just out of your budget and like Brigsy says, the B14's have a great reputation for being...

    Seat - Wheel alignement

You can elongate the steering columns mounting holes that are in the dash and that will allow it to be moved over a little. I have this on mine and the wheel is better aligned to the seat now. The plastics behind the steering wheel dont fit as nicely though but they have remained on in my car.
