Ref dash / uch area rattle, check the torx bolt that secures the plastic lower dash to the metal frame is tight (under the plastic cover on the bottom corner of dash)
Mine was loose on drivers side and rattled like mad.
You can cobble a knackered engine back together to get it to run, and most of the time it will run OK for normal use but personally id be checking the conrod bearings etc, pistons might be ok, might not be. Cam is scrap.
Might be wrong, sounds like the garage just want to chuck it back together...
I used this one/dark grey, match is not perfect but not too bad, you might be able to find a better one if you sniff round.

Prob worth masking the stitching up to avoid dying it whilst doing it, if seat is really good.

700 miles done in the blue dci this week work/business, Rotherham and Derby runs. Plods along happily on cruise.
Bought a cheap recolouring kit to tidy the drivers seat bolster up as the leather (pleather?) has a bit of wear and tear after years of arse dragging across it. Picked a...
The bricklayers that done the block paving also said the same, you can get 3 cars on the grass 😄
The grass is currently fucked due to a crane fly infestation so would be no loss..only downside would be cleaning the extra block. Already got 150sqm to de weed and keep ontop of.
I was thinking...
Quick trip to Donny in the Kangoo on Sat to collect 172 seats. Barely fit😄
As said before the fuel gauge is a bit on the piss due to ecumaster not calculating it properly and trip shows 3mpg at motorway speeds with gauge going down fast to the bottom. Luckily it resets with ign on and off using...
Long time no update.
250 has been used a bit this year and finally ticked over 19k😄
I give it a once over, motd etc in April and its been used a handful of times. It didnt need a clean so ive not washed it, as only driven in the dry. The brake dust/road muck was getting unacceptable so big...

Blue dci gets interior upgrade.
Drivers seat was well worn on the blue dci at 217k. The bolster was sewn up years ago, but was now holed and foam gone in the lower part. Not done bad for mileage.
Ive been planning on replacing them for ages but keep missing out on sport or good nick...
No need to equalise belttension when keyed.
Simply follow megane procedure using 172 torque settings. With crank pinned, pulleys loose, set tensioner, set cam slots and torque cam pulleys. Rotate crank 2 revolutions, pin crank, check belt tension and adjust if necessary, check horseshoe slides...
Ive got a new one from Rsperformance stashed in the loft. Looks spot on, im sure mine has the oem ren part number on it. I did buy it a few years ago however, turned up in same massive box.
