Fitted the engine mounts today along with a paint of the cambelt cover mount.
Not to bad of a job, apart from trying to put the two bolts in on the gearbox mount.Do they have to go in from the bottom or can you put them in from the top then nut underneath?.
On idle it seems all fine with just a...
The only mount i have ever changed on the clio is the dogbone mount to the poly mount, when i got the clio.So with this in mind i was looking to freshen up the mounts and thought why not try solid mounts to go along with the dogbone mount.
So thanks to @colesy i bought a pair of mounts off...
Thanks for the recommendations on the bleeding tool.
What about on the solid engine mounts?,ok for road use or just stick with oem with the poly insert?
Thanks mate
I do have a large syringe, but just found a US PRO Tools Hand Held Vacuum Pump & Brake Bleeding Kit which i may try for the price.Never got on to well with the ezi kit.
https://ebay.io/m/dAL9pF
TRW pads all fitted and done a few miles to bed them in,but needs more and a brake bleed.Anyone had ago at bleeding the brakes with using a trigger from a spray bottle?.thinking to give that ago rather than ezi bleed or someone in the car pumping the brake pedal.
Next thing up is changing the...
With my PBS front pads kicking out way to much brake dust, even just on normal driving around, also having normal pads on the rear. With reading up on a lot of people rating the TRW brake pads,i bought Front and rears to change over on the clio. This should bring a lot less dust on the front wheels...
I cant say i cant tell any difference driving with the 2118s and when i had my lightweight evo wheels.I think only counts if its a proper track/race car.
Fitted the oe mount conversion on the coilovers and have to say such a better drive now,no more crashy drive. Will give it a proper shake down tomorrow and have a drive out, also maybe adjust the height but will see whats its like tomorrow.Sits a bit lower now
Next Chapter on the suspension, converting the BC front coilovers from Solid mounts to oe mount set up.Only had to wait 3 weeks from BC just for these parts. With New Febi mounts and bearings.
Does anyone use BC BR Coilovers for the 172/182 using the oe top mounts and not there solid top mounts?.
Reason asking as i will be converting mine to use the oe top mounts and just want to ask a few questions/photos on how its set up please.
Yep i cant fault the last set of B14s i had,why did i go for BC this time 😆
Only thing is having to pay out for a new set of B14s before i sell the BCs.Also i think having solid top mounts dont help on a road car. With the BCs you have to spend about £150 to convert them back to normal top mount...
Thats what i will do once i have the refurb beam on,i will get Alex to do alignment and corner weigh it.Then if still not great back to the B14s,i think just went with BC as they have a great choice with changing springs, parts etc.But then i like the B14s and put on and forget.
Yeah B14 are well suited just for road use.Hard to find a bit of road where theres no pot holes or a car doing 30 😆
Just trial and error, have to just keep playing about till it suits my driving style
Looking for a set of Silver Turinis please.Could possibly do a deal/swap with my Silver 2118s on AD08RS tyres with good tread.
Still think the Turinis look best on my clio.
Any advice on setting the damper settings on BC coilovers please?.going to go out for an early drive tomorrow and have a play with trying to set them up for road use.
I have been reading up on some suspension set up companies which say for FWD is to have the front soft/med with the rear more...
