Honestly go to a specialist mate, my 172 went through 2 engines and a rebuild due to some asshole thinking he knew what he was doing, luckily I wasn't paying for the work, but it was in and the garage for pretty much two month, till I told him to stick his work up his ass and sent it to SC...
Can anybody help me, I get a rumbling/grinding type noise in the first part of first and second gear, regardless off which direction im going, got new wheel bearings all round, and the tracking is out whether thatd contribute to it?
I agree 3D is a waste of time I have two Samsung LED 3D teles 40" + 46", smart hub n all that nonsense, and I've probably used 3D twice, its a big fuss over nothing IMO, plus you've got too wear them annoying glasses
I seriously need to do my headlights, compared to some of the pics I see on here mine are ten times worse :( just brings the whole car down tbh, gonna have to set a few hours aside next week I think, I'll post pics
I know the feeling mate, Iam a bricklayer and I spend countless hours polishing and waxing my car just for it to get covered in tree sap and night and then coated in dust and crap off site, its a serious pain in the ass :/
Aux belt has lost about 5mm of its width and gone really thin, was making a loud slapping/clicking noise, so its gonna be in garage for two days whilst dephaser and that's done, and also the cv joint :/
Dephaser is noisey as feck (going in this week finally) suspected cv joint/boot problems, and it needs the tracking doing asap as my shiney new S-DRIVES are now worn down one side :(
Forgot I put this thread up, turned out to be a combo of rocker arms, aux belt tensioner and the dephaser, all sorted now apart from dephaser which is booked in for Thursday :)
Mines the same I think can't see the link, but is it directly above the accelerator pedal, there's one plug plugged in and another one just hanging there, the both fit the same socket but if I plug the plug in that's not in atm it brings the esp and abs light on, mines also got service n airbag...
So I've sorted out with the mechanic to have the new dephaser fitted next weekend, the car had all the belts done as well as new valves about a month ago (700 miles) will it need a new cam belt with it being done so recently?
Yeah good point, its all cover engine wise, so I'll speak too the bloke who's doing it all and see if he's prepared to risk a possible engine rebuild :/
