Hi mate. Yes I noticed the points where it wasn't cycling as it should. I'll go and record the fuel trims this evening and map sensor this evening. I did have a quick look at the pipes leading off to the carbon canister this morning I think I may need to look have a look at the carbon canister...
Morning all
I could do with some help interpreting what a live data chart of my o2 sensor is showing me. My 172 is running a little rougher than I would like and I want to rule out a failing o2 sensor. I checked the o2 sensor using torque and a line chart to record. I have included a screen...
Bigg red refurbed the calipers for me. So I'll be ringing them on Tuesday. As far as I can tell the 'faulty' caliper handbrake function is working just in reverse. As far as I can tell at the mo is the spring that returns the mechanism when the handbrake is released has been put in the wrong...
Hi bloke. The mechanism is working just in reverse ie. If I move the lever with my pillars towards the front of the car the pads are disengaged from the disc, if I move it towards the rear of the car the pads engage the disc.
Can only happen to me! Just checked the rear brakes and handbrake and Ive found out what's going on. The near side is working fine however the off side has been put back together back to front so that when you pull up the hand brake its actually releasing the piston further. If I pull the L...
Hmmm. I'm not 100% sure. I definitely reattached the handbrake cables before I bled and pumped the brakes, could this be the problem then? would I need to 'prime' the pistons before connecting the hand brake cable?
Evening all
Just put my car back together after having the rear calipers refurbed and rebuilt and I'm having problems with getting the handbrake hold the car.
When i reinstalled the calipers I needed to adjust the handbrake from the adjuster located behind the heat shield and that got the...
Thanks for that buddy. I had my obd wifi module plugged in the other day and saw the ecu was switching between open and closed loop far earlier than I thought it would. I think I'll switch out the first 02 sensor see what that does. I'm thinking the second one is only there to throw an engine...
OK so this issue is still plaguing my 172 cup.
Does the signal from the input of the throttle pedal route through the uch?
Could a faulty 02 sensor not show a engine management fault
Trying to rule out other possible causes at the moment
Hi all
I've had this intermittent problem whereby the central locking keeping locking and unlocking/ locking and unlocking at random and the interior lock button sometimes functions sometimes doesn't, I've disconnected the interior switch to see if this was causing the fault but the locking...
OK new sensor is in. It's still not perfect but it is certainly better. Only rising to 1500Rpm now (where as it was 2000 before) settling back standard cold idle far quicker. Tomorrow I'll cut and bung the pipe leading to the acoustic valve hopefully that will cure it fully.
Massive thank you...
So got the old man to pop down to europarts this morning for a new temp sensor and there must be something up with their parts catalog as the connector pins are completely different on the new connector
So cleaned the throttle body last night. I think marginally better. But the issue is still there next I'll change the coolant temp sensor and do the acoustic valve mod
Just wanna check something with the throttle body, when it was disconnected the butterfly valve wasn't fully closed, I cleaned...
Evening all looking for a little help with this problem on my 172cup.
I've had this problem for around 6 months now. The symptoms are: car starts fine and idles ok however upon blipping the throttle the revs hold between 1500-2000 rpm before slowly returning to the correct postion. I have also...
Just finished remapping my 172. No problems. I had forgotten I had another charger that was variable. It couldnt quite reach the specified 10a charge rate, 6a is its limit but it managed to keep the voltage around 14v the whole time.
Took the car out for a quick blast. It idles so much nicer...
Yes fast chip (rstuner) recommend a a charger that can supply a 10a charge rate and state the process can take up to 30mins. Perhaps they are covering their backs (quite wise). I took my freelander in for mapping the other week and the tuner didn't bother with keeping the battery charged the...
Morning all
I have all the bits required to remap my 172, I am however a little unsure how best to keep the battery charged whilst the rstuner is re writing the ecu. I have a fairly cheap Halfords battery charger (auto charger doesn't state the charge rates etc not user control variables) and I...
Thanks for all the reply ladies and gents.
The bias valves was replaced last year and the mot brake test did show rear braking effort.
What I think I'll probably do is try a set of renault rear discs in due course.
Yeah I do leave the handbrake on. The rears certainly look worse than the fronts, they are very tarnished and Matt in colour. I do expect that to a degree as the bias is so set for the front. I was looking at the fronts tonight and there is no visible corrosion on the fronts on either face so...
