ok long story short, i replaced my clutch cable a while ago but mechanics couldnt figure out how to reset the pedal so the clutch cover/spring bit doesnt really like to fully disengage when the clutch is hot so theres a bit of clunking
also...the clutch engagement point is like 1cm off the...
hmm...i loosened everything...pulled the engine forward...heard a clunk...
tightened everything down and the knocks are gone
the only vibration i get is when im in 4th gear >5k rpm
just wondering what you guys did to solve the wheel rubbing problem?
car drives a lot better but its rubbing pretty bad when suspension gets compressed
bumper tabs that go below the headlights got pushed out as well
ok checked rear shock its fine
was going to adjust height but the wrench i got was t he wrong size so i need to find one eventually
dropped rear pressure by 2 psi to 30/28... car drives better and a lot more stable in general but understeering in corners now
going to adjust the height and drop the rear tire pressure tomorrow...
anything over 30 is a pain the drive on road...
btw another theory is with the way i drive... im not that used to driving ff cars or short wheel based...
came from a jdm gc8 sti type r and two e36 before that
front ride height both sides...13cm from fender edge to rim top edge
rear ride height both sides...9cm from fender edge to rim top edge
no idea about the cross weight... proper setups shops dont really exists around here...
trial and error on "closed roads"......
unrelated question.. i got the...
hmm.... now that you mention it...
i havent really noticed it on left turns
and no shocks arent adjustable
btw both front and rear tires are running 30psi nitrogen
ok so... i got the car used, around 5k km on ktec coilover shocks + ktec solid top mounts
i got new used subframe + wishbones/balljoints + steering rack bushes + new r1r 195/50/15 tires all around
tracking done twice
front, -2.2 degrees camber 10' toe out
rear, -1.4 degrees camber 0-10' toe in...
are the arb droplinks different or the arb itself? my searches only turn up how hard it is to install the arb bushes and i don't think im competent enough to do it
dan ..got another q, will a 172 cup subframe fit a 172 as the wishbone mounting points are wider? since im getting looking for another subframe it would make sense to upgrade
thanks guys
problems always show up faster than i can fix them...i do drive my cars pretty hard though
anyways..have a pic :grinning:
i don't really care about the exterior of the car as stone chips will destroy anything i do to it but i do try and keep it the mechanical stuff in top condition
hi guys thought i'd drop by and introduce myself
had 2 e36s, a 323i (totaled after 3 weeks), a 328i with mt tranny swap (engine and shell gave up after 2 years after replacing basically everything new except for engine, interior and body)
had a jdm subaru gc8 sti type r (sold after 3 engines and...
lol honestly im just hopeless at modelling....its not all that hard but takes a lot of patience and experience
but im still playing with my real car so no time to work on this
