Changed the LH lower arm on MK2. Had a problem with replacing the old bush link between roll bar and arm, trying to squash it enough to get the nut on underneath. Why couldn't they make the bolt a bit longer?

I've fixed it! It was the inertia fuel cut off switch which was stuck on. I removed it with the plan in mind to bypass it then I chickened out on that idea and put it back on. The fiddling around with it must have switched it off . Everything works now, the relay's not buzzing any more. Brilliant!

I had a search on the forums but didn't find much to go on. It all looks very cramped what with the air con and pas pulleys so I'm a bit hesitant on doing the job. What needs to be removed first to get at everything? Is there a belt tensioner on this model or do I have to slacken the alternator...

I just want to verify that the water pump is driven from the auxiliary belt and not the cambelt?

Done it. It was the central drain hole indeed. With the aid of a wire coat hanger opened up, a torch and a neck like an ostrich, I unblocked it. No leaks now

No, I've see it dripping behind the heater and from there it creeps under the carpet on the driver's side. It's not coolant.

Mk2 2001 Got a leak behind the heater unit when it rains. So scuttle off then. What should I be looking for down there, wiper seals worn , missing grommets, is there a usual cause?

My LH one is loose at the bottom and I'm told that the adjuster has broken which is a common fault. Does the entire grille and bumper have to come off? The upper grille has clips, how are these clips undone?

Before applying toothpaste or baking soda or whatever to the lens check your bulbs aren't covered in dust as mine were.

There are are couple of clips either end which attach the upper grille to the wings, I'm concerned about snapping them. How are these clips released pleased?
