Since its clean it is now pretty dirty again with all the weather we have been having. I broke my foot in a step ladder incident so been in cast for 6 weeks and 2 weeks after that hobbling about!
The moral of the story is do not work on the top of old knackered step ladders!

Well this project is dead now. I still have the shell and a few other bits but the rest has been sold off. I have now bought a Stage Rally 106 that I will be competing in for 2016 and the 182FF which is now my daily and road rally car.
I am wanting a set of camber bolts but see a few different manufacturers make them and there is some difference in price. Are any regarded as being better than others?
I did some research and found what I needed to know, the outer assembly even on the cup has the hole for the ABS sensor and the stub axles have different thicknesses of base plate. Thanks.
No I never got it fitted as there was a change of plan. It is still brand new in the box if you were interested in buying one at a discounted price. ;) I looked at the wiring and all seemed simple enough.
Now I need to get myself sorted as I am doing Total Warrior Scotland in the morning and need to get my stuff packed, work out where I am going and how long it will take to get there and then get myself to bed!
Had a late night tonight working on it too.
Fitted the OMP wheel I already had. Unfortunately I had the OMP boss too which isn't really any good for the 182. I had to cut the horn connector off as it wouldn't go through the boss hole and also had to drill, tap and fit an M4 bolt to the boss so...
Now it has an MOT I could play with a w other things. I fitted White LED side lights from Philips to match the headlights a little better and also changed the high beams for 100W MTEC. I read up on a few forums about headlights and these seemed to get good reviews for their colour and were a...
Took it to my favourite friendly MOT station today and got a 12 month ticket. Obviously bought myself a new cat, took the decat off and fitted the new cat before going to the test. ;)
It actually failed at first for the headlight beam being too low but they took it upon themselves to adjust...
And just to make matters worse it was still leaking from the centre to cat join as the new system didn't come with a new clamp and the old one wasn't the right size, the threads had been stretched and the bolts bent.
So considering I was about £500 into this now I spent the £7 odd and went to...
I lay on the floor on the drive with the car on little ramps and began installing the new exhaust system. Took a while getting everything in place with restricted access and to be honest struggled to get it all lined up. It's still not right now and think I will need to loosen the brackets and...
An exhaust story for you all:
When I bought the car it was blowing from the centre section. I checked the clamp and it seemed that the cat and centre section had been modified and the ends did not fit together properly. I bought a decat pipe which has the correct end to match the centre section...
Too many variables to know if comparing different cars so unless you do a back to back test on a dyno with your car it's hard to say. My 172 engine without RS stamped inlet felt much stronger than my 182 with RS stamped inlets. Both just had belts and dephaserand set up correctly.
This is the old car that I took off. Looks like it's either not original or someone has cut the end off and welded a different one on.
I got a Lambda extension fitting from MAD too so hopefully won't get any warning lights.
Didn't stay standard for long as the tyres need changing and I have a brand new set of TD 1.2's with new tyres sat here so seems like he obvious thing to do for now:
So changed from 16" with ET45 and 205 tyres to 15" with ET35 and 195 tyres.
Also fitted the studs rather than bolts.
Just had cam belt, dephaser, water pump, aux belt and tensioner, clutch, gearbox oil, engine oil, plugs, coolant, pas fluid, A/C gas, ball joints, track rod ends, exhaust mounts & lambda sensor.
Might change the gearbox as there is a little crunch around third gear and the exhaust is blowing at...
Bought a tidy 182 Full Fat as my daily as my other Clio will be off the road for a while or may never actually go back on the road. So here it is as it was advertised:
Some may recognise the race car in the background. :)
