That looks wicked. Wish I'd thought about doing something like this earlier, just finished a stint of doing 180 miles a night this week in the Fister and the headlights were terrible on the unlit sections of the motorway.
I'm in a kinda similar position, I did a whole 2k in the 12 months previous, so don't really need a car, however since getting the Fister I've done 3k in 3 months. Wondering whether 8k annually is going to be enough now.
Doesn't Drive regularly have this sort of hiatus? They treat it like a TV show with seasons, rather than attempting to pump out stuff year round. The NBC stuff is just filling what would usually be an empty void.
Anyway they've said in the youtube comments that Chris has already done a bunch of...
They've said all the stuff they put on NBC will be going on the Youtube channel.
Also mentioned was that future stuff may be going behind a paywall.
Edit: Matt covered a lot of that stuff here - http://www.reddit.com/r/cars/comments/261h1s/drive_is_coming_to_nbc_sports_524/ look for posts from...
Guessing you suffered that long stretch of 50mph down the M1? I was really tempted by getting cruise/ST-3 just because that part of the M1 winds me right up. Right now my solution is to just take the scenic route, though admittedly I haven't left the Midlands yet.
It does work with the iPhone. You have to connect the phone to the car then, on your phone, go to Settings -> Bluetooth. Hit the little i icon next to SYNC and then enable 'Show Notifications'. Turn the car off, then back on again. Should work now. It's a bit hit and miss though imo, I struggle...
My (soon to be) MD at work is 30 and hasn't passed his test yet, but will be buying a new BMW 135i as soon as he does. His insurance will be marginally less than I paid for my first car when I was 18.
Regardless, I don't give him long before he bins it.
If he's borrowed it, he's had it for a fairly long time now and they let him do what he wants with it. It's had that roof box on for ages, it's been wrapped in black and has regularly been up a mountain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaGvlihf6to
My housemate got a 42" LG from RicherSounds for ~£400 last month; 1080p, the whole lot. Decent enough TV, much better with a HD source like the 360 or blu-ray than the SD Virgin boxes we have in the house but that's hardly surprising. It was a good buy imo.
