Blyton, well what a day left the house at 5:30am and didn’t get home till 10:40pm and did over 600 miles but what a brilliant day.
Morning excitement:
Service station to meet the other lads:
Checking tyre pressures and shifting tyres around for equal wear.
Itching to get...

Better late than never I suppose, so Castle Combe track day.....love it, what a great track. Took a while for the confidence to grow but come the end of the day we where lapping at around 1 min 28 seconds and considering there was 2 extra chicane coned sections it was a respectable...

I've got a track day at Combe on Friday so it was time to get the car ready, and surprise surprise more electrical issues, this time starting issues again!
I got so fed up, so anyway checked the battery earth, checked the earth strap on the gear box, still not luck, eventually...

So finally got the Clio sorted took it to Dan Potter at SJMotorsport in Glastonbury and after some time Dan figured out that it was the actual ECU that was faulty, so I managed to source a replacement one with UCH and Key and Dan copied the map over for me.
He also replaced the...

So sorted out a replacement pedal to eliminate that as a possible issues with the car going in to limp mode.
I let the car warm up and took for some what of a hammering, god what a car, bloody love it, thought after driving the M5 it wouldn't feel as good as it used to, but it...

So its started
To be honest when I first started removing everything I thought it's not actually that heavy, but it soon adds up, that pile has a fair amount of weight to it, will total it up to see how much I've managed to shift. TBH probably won't even be the weight of...

So finished swapping the wheels over this evening, and took the car for a drive, looking forward to testing the tyres out n track, really enjoying the look again with the wheels back on, what do others think?

Why is it that the easiest of jobs always turn out to be such a *****.
Anyway the bonnet pins are finally in after plenty of swearing and shouting:
Still need to fit the new rear bushes, rear shocks and resolve misfire.

So managed to get some yellow spray paint today to finally spray the centre caps for the track wheels, not the best colour match in the world but it will do.
Got the R888R fitted today
New Dodo Juice bag and a few more cleaning bits arrived today as well.

So its been almost a year without an update, not a lot has changed on the car since my last update, I have however found time this weekend to give it a summer detail as it was looking very sorry for itself, just clicked on to 107,000 miles now yet its still looking great.
I still...

So its been a fair while since I did an update, partly due to the fact we have just purchased a house and that has been keeping my busy.
Car still has the misfire but I have found out that there is an issue with the cabling to the ECU so I need to look in to this further, also...

Pay day, so purchase black power flex bushes and stranded OEM rear shocks, also picked up some decent HT leads for £65 instead of £80
Mate sent me a thermostat and brake pads:
Going to see how I get on with these Ferodo pads for now as I can get them dirt cheap and will do a...
Yeah i got the email but I said I was willing to wait, hope its no more than 4 weeks, to be honest after the research I have carried out it does seem that mine is a lot louder than others so will be checking the heat shield etc.
Yeah I used about £70 worth of the stuff, I have heard on the FB page that others that filed up are also facing miss fires? Do you know what this will be down to? Would a fresh full tank of fuel resolve it or do we think it will have buggered something?
Yes its those cams but I paid £350 for them second hand from some one on on the FB Clio owners page, worth asking on there tbh as can save yourself a fair whack.

Also picked up the shifter for £205 second hand rather than £270 that I think...
From my research and what i have heard from other owners is that that if you are fitting cams only, so no RS2 inlet or ITB's then 438 are the best option to go for as you get the biggest gains, however if you are looking to do other work (other than say matched inlets, improved airbox and...

So the big day and what a day.
So we arrived at 8:20am just in time for the briefing, I had been on the road at this point for 3.5 hours so I was a little tired but the adrenaline started to flow and after a coffee and bacon sarnie it was time to get ready.
(Note: DB test saw the...

A very successful day, sorted out the PMS shifter, took around 40 mins of fiddling to get it to go in to all gears:
Heat shield bent in order to stop it coming in to contact with the new selector rod
Replaced the braided lines and re-bled the brakes, as well as fitting the...

So two days to go to Bedford and almost there, collected the car from Dan's yesterday and it felt better but not as good as I had hoped, however today I took the car out again and it feels fantastic, strongly recommend having cams changed to all owners when the cam belt it due etc...
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it and I hope it helps you out when you make a start on yours, they are great fun to work on and even more fun to throw about :)
Not sure yet, I am going to strip it down to see what failed, always wanted to build up an engine so once I move in to our new house going to setup a work bench in the shed in order to rebuild and have a spare lump.
