I recently changed my OS front hub, bottom ball joint and driveshaft on my 172. Both hub and driveshaft were second hand. The ball joint was new. The driveshaft was in really good conditions and not apparent leaks from any of the boots etc. The hub was a little dirty/rusty.. but cleaned up okay...
Totally get that and now I've used the kit can see how the different grades of sand paper and wet and dry could have done the job. Not having a drill attachment already was the upside of the kit as it just comes with everything you need (other than a drill lol). :)

"'Knock' handbrake cable through caliper"
This isn't always that easy! Did mine last weekend and the caliper was so corroded that nipple holding the cable in the caliper was so pretty much welded to the caliper. I found trying to knock it out resulted in the nipple bending and starting to pinch...
Any advise over the suggested maximum drop on a 172 running 17inch wheels.. currently on standard shocks? Please add pics too as I'm unsure whether to lower it or leave it.
