So an amusing update for you guys. Got to the bottom of what the knocking noise was and it wasn't the mounts or the bolts being loose. It was the bloody fatty induction kit tapping the body :D
Hmm, on my pioneer unit in my car, you have to keep the turn the stereo off first by keeping hold of the "src" button. Once the stereo is turned off, try keeping the "scrolling / big ass / volume" button and see if you get additional options appearing on the screen. There should be something...
In order to get it out of protect mode. You usually have to just turn the ignition on and off again.
The wires is a tricky one. It could be on the unit, the speakers or anywhere in between. That's why I suggested that you try and find a different head unit just to test things out.
So just a quick heads up. I removed the dogbone mount that was on the car and it appears to have a powerflex bush already installed. I replaced it any way just to be sure it wasn't the dogbone mount but the knocking noise is still there.
There is a slight gap in the bush but I don't see that...
Hey mate,
This could happen when there are wires touching each other or on a metal panel of the car. Usually, the headunit goes into protect mode or throws up an error.
To begin with, I would first remove the aftermarket headunit and use the old one again to check the speakers are fine. If the...
I know mate but money is a bit tight at the moment so the dogbone was a cheaper option. Only cost £15 from a friend. Will keep me going until i can powerflex the old one
Thanks guys. I've ordered a replacement dogbone mount that should arrive today or tomorrow. I plan to replace that first to see if it sorts it out.
Im looking to powerflex my old one when I get the chance to do so. I'll let you guys know how I get on.
Hey Chaps,
My 182 has recently developed a knocking noise when changing gears from first and second or when I take my foot off the accelerator. When you sit in the drivers seat, you can hear / feel the knock is coming from the left hand side of the car. The gear changes aren't as smooth as they...
After searching on eBay for an hour or two, I finally figured out what it is. It's and OEM from eBay (notice the premium word on the left backbox) and still pretty pricey.

Hey Guys,
This is a long shot with some horrible photos but could someone help me identify this exhaust as I have no idea what it is (Personally think its a modified stock exhaust but idk :D) The sound is very tinny to start off with but gets deeper and louder as the car warms up to...
Hey bud,
If you buy a second hand RSTuner box, you'll need to first unlock the device which costs 60 euros. and then choose a map which cost either 30 euros or 50 euros if you want pops and bangs.
It is really straight forward and the FAQ and YouTube videos provided by FastChip are a great...
Yup as the others have mentioned, it is the boot stops. You can either buy new ones and replace them, or buy some clear silicone and apply around the boot stop and that will cure it too.
I bought these ones mate https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150934345262
It takes 5 mins to do. Remove the front passenger side arch liner enough to pull out two pipes that feed to the headlight washer. Snip the pipes and fit the valves with the black bit (inlet) facing up / washer bottle.
Let me...
So had a little look around just now. First i removed the driver side scuttle panel and checked the drain. This appeared to be clear so i then ran water across my windscreen and water was flowing through the drain as it should. While the water running, I could clearly see the middle drain pipe...
Thanks guys.
Is there any way of getting to the middle drain without having to rip everything apart?
I've also got an amp wire running through the bonnet wire grommet. This wouldn't cause the leak would it?
I know there are several other threads about this issue but I have some questions which the others didn't address.
So after a heavy a fairly wet week, My car started to get misted very quickly and thought it would be the pollen filter as many suggested. Before even getting to change the pollen...
