    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Have to give them that, It’s a system that simply can not fail. The amount of work to certify that must be obscene, so it’s better to not make it available at all. But it’s just an exemple, almost all the customizable settings could be written in chinese it would make no difference. I assume a...

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Also, those kind of options like launch control and alike, are just frustrating, because you see they are there, but not even a clue on how to make them work.

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Forget the gen90 if you can. Everything thing is cryptic. No help or hints in every custom fields. No cruise control. No 2 stage control. No customization what so ever. No dongle can read data from obd socket, because no known protocol is used or if in fact, anything cames out of there. ESP is...

Clutch pedal heavy? Trialing something I made

I wonder if with something like this could work: https://microchip.lk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/jf-0530B-gangbei-0530B-push-pull-electromagnet.jpg it could even run by the clutch sensor. The most difficult would be to find a perfect size one with the right force.

Clutch pedal heavy? Trialing something I made

Well I got to admit I wasn’t thinking right. Indeed there will be always some force being applied to the clutch. Worst is the fact that I can’t think a way to solve that issue.

Clutch pedal heavy? Trialing something I made

Why would it put extra load? The force made by spring is subtracted from the force made by the leg. The force needed to actuate the clutch is constant.

Clutch pedal heavy? Trialing something I made

Love it. Simple and no drawbacks. It would be very very bad luck to jam something if it brokes, and even that very unlucky situation, can be mitigated by sleving the spring. I will look to try this.

    Standalone ECU's and Immobilisers

No worrys with the immo, just slap the gen90(properly mapped) and it's ready to go. The immo is managed in the UCH, so it keeps working as usual. Unlocking the ECU is only needed when swaping the OEM ECUs between diferent clios without swaping the UCH also.

That’s true, but don’t rely on the values for range and instant consumption, or you will end up walking to the nearest station for gas.

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

When I see videos on youtube with ecu’s from other manufacturers, I almost cry. These gen90s are very poor. The only advantage is to be straight plug and play, otherwise I suspect that they would roth in the shelves. PS: if they only provided a manual on how to do more things, I guess it would...

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Wait for ktec answer, they will provide the gin file. That file tells the software how to deal with the ecu. It’s a silly thing not coming with the software on the usb stick.

    Odd issue with central locking

Hello, So, I've decided to add a DIY follow me home system on my clio. To do so I used a arduino and some other bits. It works beautifully, but a small problem appears whenever the arduino is powered on. The range of the locking system goes to about 30cm. The key only works when is almost...

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Yup, same $h1t, almost same smell. Does anyone know the "change gear" pin output? It's blank in the software, and I'm afraid of start trying out random numbers :\ This ECU is the real "black box" concept.

    Trust washers (f4r)

Today I took the plastic cover with the oil pump atached. Unfortunately, they were not forgotten. I can see the spaces were they should be. On the oil pump side I can see a circular scuff on the block, caused by the crankshaft rubbing against the surface. R3k1355 was right, it’s done.

One of them looks pretty ok, the other one is a little bend. No symptoms of anything, engine working and pulling OK. I just found them when I took of the sump.

    Trust washers (f4r)

Hello! So, last week drove over a rock in the road, and unfortunately it made a crack on the sump. Today I’ve managed to take the sump out, and found 2 trust washers on the bottom, one intact and another one bended. My main question is, how f$cked I am? Can they by put in place without...

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

by your description, sounds like the usb hub on the motherboard shuts itself down when you connect the cable, and comes back on when you disconnect it. That may be due to some kind of damage on the cable. Try on another computer just to be sure.

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Well, let me reformulate the question, is it supposed to work? Or is it a add-on like cruise control that although it was advertised on their web page, never appeared..?

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Assuming you have the ftdi driver installedcheck if when you connect the cable to the usb port, a new COM port appears in the device manager, usually COM3, if so, then on ktec software select that port. Ignition must be live also.

    Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

Hello, This fells a bit in off topic regarding the current thread focus on lambdas, closed loops and so on. But since its about GEN90, here it goes. Does anyone have ESP enabled and working with this ECU? Cuz mine is pretty dead, althru ABS works just fine...

hydraulic clutch kit for a 172

Hello, So here's the deal, I know that this models have a pretty stiff clutch pedal, and that was fine until some time ago. The problem is that I have a genetic condition, that including other bad symptoms, has weaken my legs, and even made me loose almost all the haptic feedback. So this car...

    Quest for airbox cover/box

Hello, A few moths ago I've decided to turbocharge my 172 clio. I've attached a photo of the engine bay as it is now. For really sad reasons, I would like to cover the airfilter with something to hide it, and make it a litle more oem style. Since there are many clio fans arround here, I ask if...

    GEN90 ECU

That crosed my mind too, but once DBW and limp mode were implemented, I guess that it could be safe. Sad to loose that feature, but well, the benefics are uncomparable.

It seems that ktec never mentioned cruise control in their web page, that idea must have been created on foruns etc..

    GEN90 ECU

Well, since I started asked questions on cruise controln ktec has removed any mentions about it on their webpage. Meanwhile, I've managed to confirm that it isn't possible to "turn on" cruise control, because there is no code for it in the ECU firmware. So, that one is crossed out :(

    GEN90 ECU

Hello, So I've just fitted a GEN90 ECU it to my car. It's very hard to find any technical documentation on this. Things like pin-out diagrams, boost control, cruise control ESP or any adicional features aren't documented. So I have no ideia on how to set them up. Does anyone have this kind of...
