Thanks!
Been trying to diagnose my friend's 182 that has a very sluggish acceleration. Feels like it accelerates to about 3k rpm then begins to feel sluggish after that. Codes checked and nothing came up. Its in the garage anyway so we've had everything off. We decided to look at the timing whilst we...
That was just put there to keep it out of the way. I have rubber-lined p-clips and bolts ready to secure it nicely, just waiting until I get a rivnut gun to secure the p-clips. Thanks for the concern though.
That's really awesome to hear. Thanks!
Thanks
Thanks! I believe I bought a total of 3 metres which gave me enough to do both the live and ground wire. Tips; If you haven't removed the heater matrix I'd recommend using a pass-through to get the cable through the bulkhead. I just used...
I use a Powervamp (can't remember model number) battery, relocated behind the passenger seat with a cut-off switch. I've had the cut-off switch switched off for at least a month before and the car started up fine without needing to charge the battery.
<----- Relocation pics in the last few...
Looks great. At what point will the standard ECU no longer work efficiently? Am I right in thinking that at anything over about 15psi the ECU can't handle more than that?
If you're likely to still have it in a few months then I might be interested. Going to sorn the volvo til July when my insurance runs out and then it'll be going back on the road. Being my first road car that Im going to modify I want to feel the progression of it getting faster and handling...
Well, just over 3 months later, and I did it. Picked up this 1997 940 LPT for just over £400 last week. Has done 248,000 miles but has full service history every single year since 1997, and owned by the last owner for 17 years since May 2000. Seemed like a very genuine couple and with a stack of...
Or, if you get a slightly smaller diameter bar, put it all the way through both sides of the horseshoe and the linkage, then then feed the bolt in as you remove the smaller diameter bar, using the bar to line up the linkage/holes. Don't know if that'd work though.
Could you try bending the horseshoe bit in like you said to line up the holes, then file it away slightly inside until the linkage fits ok? Never had a PMS shifter so dont know what the linkage bit is like, just going off the pictures in the thread.
Then set about mounting it all in place. I moved the battery further back behind the seat. All cabled were cut to length, crimped, and heat-shrinked. I mounted the mega fuse close to the battery first.
The cable then went from the fuse to the cut-off switch mounting below the handbrake. You...
Not been much progress lately due to the cold and darkness every day when I get home from work. Bought a nylon gear knob and drilled out the thread and with a bit of persuasion in the form of a large mallet, it went on and wont be coming off any time soon.
Decided to move my battery further...
Hi,
Just a quick question as I don't have access to my car at the minute and am looking at ordering some things for it. I'm going to be rewiring my window switches to new switches in the centre console. Could somebody please tell me what amp switches I need?
Thanks
Check fuse first. If not then put a multimeter on the connections of the socket and see if it has power. If it doesnt and the fuse is ok then most likely a loose wire or earth somewhere. Also, have you tried other 12v accessories to check its not the one you're using that's broken?
Good looking project, nice to see you and your son working on it together. Following for the commentary, good read so far.
If that bolt is still stuck, grind a slot in it and use a big flat head screwdriver bit on a ratchet or a piece of flat bar.
