Ive done exactly the same with the driveshaft gearbox bracket. 2 litres of fresh oil all over the place and it stinks too!

Just had its first test drive round my estate. Couldnt do much with no tax and insurance. But been sat in the garage for 13 months while i do belts and full suspension refurb and hasnt fell to bits or valves smashed together! Soon be out and b road blasting

Bang on a 100k mine. Cant wait get it out the garage. I had a mk1 focus rs before this and didnt like driving it incase of stone chips etc. Sod doing that again with any car, lifes too short for fannying about like that

I used pattern and didnt fit. Gen ones solved my problem

If its for looping and doing epas it'll be fine. I did it the other day with a similar kit. Need a pipe cutter if there is one with it.

I have the bergen impacts for about 12 months. Ive proper abused them and been fine so far.

Just to update for others who may be after handbrake cables for a 172 cup. Genuine 172 cables fit perfectly. The euro pagid one was too short. They worked until the ratcheting mechanism in the handbrake handle decided to sheer its teeth....

Looking superb. Some motivation to sort mine out.

Ended up going for gen renault for 172 to save messing about. Hopefully they will fit no probs.

Ill just give them the reg of my old ph1 to bring the cables up

So the equivalent size in first line will be ok? I can get them from a motor shop just in town no probs. The pagid one was 1380mm so called the right one thats for ph1

Excellent cheers. Im sure the pagid one i bought was the same length as ph1 but its obvs a piece of crap and dosnt fit. Hopefully genuine will sort it.

Had a quick search and cant find anything for definite. Anyone know the part numbers or which handbrake cables will fit 172 cup? Got a euro one a while back. Tried fitting today and its short. Cheers.

Yeah have to get used to scraped knuckles with the lack of space in these. Made a few mistakes along the way recently but soon learn. Ive just busted the power steering pipe with the switch in it so be careful with that. Pain to try and get hold of one.

You'll learn so much mate. Just done the same on mine. Best way to learn not being afraid to get stuck in.

May have to get some 2118's in the future now haha

Mine are defo going back silver. They are white from a previous owner and a crap job too. Have you had yours refurbed at any point with a particular colour?

ive literally just taken the engine out of my cup and drive shafts obvs out. As far as im aware its 99.9999% standard and with single piece shafts and no support.

Some mad man will pay over the odds. Been after a 106 rallye for a while now and they are the same. Going for money they are not worth, with body work and wrong engines etc.

Ive just taken my right hand cable off as it wasnt holding even after adjusting the tension. the left is fine. i stripped the caliper and cleaned it and still wouldnt hold. i just come to the conclusion the cable had stretched/or wrong one so just going to get a new cable to rule that out and...

Haha will do. Im going to sign up as a paid member. Ive just done a full front end suspension rebuild. Full new bushes, ball joints etc. Hoping to get it out soon. Ill get a project thread up soon.

As far as im aware there wasnt any? it was one of my best mates Matt who had it and im sure you have had some details from @Knuckles as he knows him too. When he had it about 2 years ago they were just the non recaro sport seats.
