two letters one inviting me to a driving day at Cobham (I think) and another to the motor show. A list of extras you could buy. I think thats about it.
Before i pop it on eBay I wondered if any V6 aficionados would be interested in a Hardback book and small model of the V6 Clio (c. 85mm long).
I bought a V6 Clio back in the day and Renault gave these to me. I have some letters and even Motor Show tickets from the period. So would really suit a...
Quote: On the other hand I have done a fair few cars for other people and friends so mine has payed fr itself.
Dont suppose you would do mine? (For a fee of course!)
Where do you live?
I have no intention at all of knocking the V6. I love the thing. And yes if I was not so short of money right now I would definately consider buying one.
However, I was not knocking the V6 when I said in my experience the Trophy would be faster than a Mk1 V6. Also let me add again I have no...
I did 1000 miles at the Ring last week, on top of the 2000 laps I have already done in the last 10 years. I have no doubt that a Trophy would beat a Mark 1 V6. I have not however driven a Mark 2 V6 so I cant be so sure about that.
How do the Power to Weight Ratios compare...

So guzzler how does it compare to a vxr?
I need to update my profile - the VXR was sold to free up cash for a Clio, an R1 and a Hot Tub!
So I guess you know there is no real comparison between the Clio Trophy and the VXR excpet to...
500 Trophys will be sold in the UK. the only other country to see them is Switzerland and they only get 25.
I test drove one in Stourbridge today. They will sell you a new one for £13500 dead (OTR).

My 182 went in for a service yesterday (12 months & 9,000 miles £230). I asked the dealer to look into why the car hesitates a bit when it is started from cold. What I mean by hesitates is that the car does not respond to normal, moderate application of power as if something somewhere was...
I spent the winter in Canada and my gf drove mine every 2 or 3 weeks (she claims) and it never missed a beat. Started first time on my return too.
But as well as all the normal stuff about oil and rad etc, I have learnt from experience it pays to keep a full tank of fuel. Prevents...

8.20? Wow.
I have 3 days closed circuit on the Ring in July - on the R1. I hope to get a quick lap or 2 on tape.

you are mad !! what was the best time you did
That lap was about 8.20 bridge to gantry. I reckon I have probably done it about 10 seconds faster without the camera. Thats on the bike. VXT was slower. VXR was quicker :)
Thanks guys.
Back to the drawing board then.
I like the idea of a wreck except I will be driving it about 1000 miles - and to buy a car I could trust would cost quite a bit. Then there is insurance/breakdown cover/ worry, plus the fact that I will miss out on the enjoyable drive in my...
I was planning on towing my R1 to the Nurburgring next month. However I cant find a towbar suitable for the Clio 182 anywhere.
Is it possible to fit one?
Has anyone else done it?
Cheers.
Ben
Has anyone done any towing with their 182?
I am off to Germany for 10 days on my bike with my girlfriend and I think I will need more luggage carrying capacity than the R1 can offer. The Mrs will need some wheels when we get there too.
The bike weighs around 180 kgs.
Well I am 36 - ancient on this forum. I have downgraded from a VXR. My insurance has gone UP! WTF!
The car is garaged - good postcode - 9 years NCB and best deal was £500. Crazy money!
