    172 Cup OEM+

Yeah there is. It's a repo from ECP from memory. I'm so f**king happy I've found it. This is 100% the cause of the knock (hopefully).

I secured the bias valve up with cable ties and it did sweet FA. Spurred in my the advice above from all especially @Brigsy I started snooping at the rear calipers. Now, I have check these and the bolts were tight. However: This is a reproduction caliper as the original was leaking...

172 Cup brake bias - rear brakes compensator fault? Not the MOT issue!!

As this seems to be the 'most recently active' compensator thread. I seem to have a knock coming from mine when lightly pressing the brake pedal when approaching a junction etc. How to I solve this as it sounds terrible from inside the cabin. Although not ideal, I guess cable tying it up...

    172 Cup OEM+

Noise was there and I assumed bearings so I replaced the discs and bearings. It's still there. Pads look to be secured and giving the a tap (hand brake off) they're snug. I'm positive it's the bias valve.

I need a way to stop the knocking on part braking. It sounds awful from inside the car.

    172 Cup OEM+

Thanks @Matt Cup. From what I gather, Cups shouldn't have the bar attached. Although if it stops this annoying rattle/knock then I'm fitting one.

    172 Cup OEM+

OK the knock, I think(?) I've found it. It sounds just like this. It feels like it's something hitting the car. It knocks when gentle braking to come to a stop and never on hard braking. I'm asking could this be it? As I have no other ideas and my theory, or process of eliminating things...

    Knocking from rear under braking.182

I have the exact same problem. Op - did you find out what the issue was?

    172 Cup OEM+

A tale of highs and lows. The high. It past it's MOT. Then the lows, of which there are a couple. Starting with the small issue: Literally on the way home from the MOT the washer jets stopped working, no noise from the pump, nadda. Got home and checked the fuses. All good. Wiggled the...

    172 Cup OEM+

An update. The correct radiator arrived, with a day to spare as I have the Cup booked in for an MOT. Correct rad with mounting points for the fan. Went in like a glove Bleed the coolant until the fan kicked in. Took it for a little spin (Private road as I have no MOT, officer) and it's...

    Schwartz olive Clio 182

Still magnificent choice of colour contrast between the olive and silver. On the fence about the wings, I think it could be pulled off quite well. C'mon man, where's the splitter?!

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Probably doable without the heatsheild in place, I'd have thought.

    172 Cup OEM+

I'm going to say standard. Only reason there's a specific rad is because of the mounting brackets for the AC condenser. The inlet and outlet of the radiators are in the same location. So the same. I think.

    172 Cup OEM+

The new (and hopefully correct) one I've bought is from Ebay. Seller has it listed as a 172 Cup and specifically says it's for non ac models and a 172 Cup only. So they seem to know what they have listed. I asked them to send pictures of the mounting for the fan and the top mounting brackets...

    172 Cup OEM+

Made an amazing mistake yesterday. In an effort to bring this up to scratch I thought I'd replace some of the cooling system, namely the radiator, thermostat and thermostat gasket. All was going really well. The coolant that came out was OK. But the radiator was a bit crusty around the...

172 Cup Top Radiator Brackets - pic request.

Figured it out. Brute force. Now smuthered in Deox Gel.

172 Cup Top Radiator Brackets - pic request.

How do you get the rubbers out? I though there would be a slot to slide them in, but unless it's rust fooling me there doesn't seem to be? Or brute force oust them out?

172 Cup Top Radiator Brackets - pic request.

Fair play, 12 years on and here we are. Just changing the radiator on my 172 Cup and wondered if brackets were available to buy as mine are a bit grubby. Turns out you can't buy them new anymore. And for completeness and hopefully helpful to someone in the future These are the non aircon...

Hunting rattles and I'm snooping around the boot area. The boot latch. Is it adjustable, I seem to recall reading that they could be adjusted but I can't see how? @Brigsy I think it's your thread I read where you adjusted the boot latch?

182 Black Gold - Yorkshire B Road Project

That's not the worst case scenario, thankfully. Wonder if it was not torqued correctly.

    172 Cup OEM+

Now every Clio I've owned has had floppy inner TRE's and the the outer TRE's aren't usually far behind. Neither aren expensive so I did my research and bought some fresh ones. The ones on there weren't that bad to be honest and at one point I did consider sending the back, getting a refund and...

Flat side to bearing/disc and tapered side to car. It's not immediately obvious which side is tapered until you hold it in your hand. Even that above image, not really sure what side that even is! 😂

To finish of the rear refresh I thought it rude not to add some new rear discs and pads. Sure we've all seen what old discs and pads look like but for the sake of documenting it: Before After Looked like one bearing was on it's last legs as this rubber (at one time was rubber maybe?) seal...

    172 Cup OEM+

Took just over a week. They had to get it done quick as they had bigger projects to smash out. I had originally planned to refresh a second beam and supply that built up with rear brakes and bushes etc. But the second had beam I'd bought had a rust hole in it which I wasn't aware of until the...

Dropped the car off to a local place for removing the rear beam, tank and exhaust etc and having any surface rust treated with dinitrol RC900 and undersealed with dinitrol 4941 and lastly front wheelwells treated with dinitrol 4010 and a linolin based coating. Also the rear beam was given a lick...
