Poor build quality.
Slow.
Expensive parts, servicing.
Cheap now, so now becoming a chav chariot.
Overated.
And the most annoying thing is the great cup vs full fat debate...............................................................
Time to sell up as work mileage suggests a diesel, really going to miss this car. What do you think a 53 on a 52 plate 172 with 53000 is worth, it has full Renault service history, cambelt/ auxillary belt done, full mot and taxed till September, brand new Renault steering wheel, original alloys...
Just had my aux/cam belt done, got the car home and noticed the wheel arch linining was split took it back going to be done monday. Went home and noticed my drivers side headlight was higher than the passenger side. Then noticed the grill was all malalighned and there were screwdriver marks on...
Was so tempted to buy a 197......then I remembered Renaults track record on upgrading existing designs. How gutted are current 197 owners going to be when the 'ultimate' 197 is on the road. With the power issues ironed out this will be a great car, but it aint that yet.
Yep like it alot. Im from Belton, saw yours parked at that park opposite the Wherry. Im looking for some new wheels for mine, thinking of black as its a silver 172 ff. Want those stickers, look great on yours......and mine.
Clio's really suffer from good ones and bad ones, a really good FF 172 will keep up with a cup. Btw I have owned both and settled on the my 'really good' FF172, the interior is well worth more to me than those alloys and spoiler.
Im going to wait and see, after driving the new Clio 3 im not so sure. The new grown up version is too big and really lacks the character of the mark 2B and A. Im hoping it does kick arse because I love my 172, but the new one really leaves me cold. We shall see.....
The difference in performance is so fine a bag of shopping will make the cup lose its edge. A lard arse cup driver and the advantage is gone, go full fat the same fun..... this time with leather.
Hi all, 1 year of 172 ownership and things had got a little predictable.......Just went on a weekender in Derbyshire, there is a very twisty road between Ashbourne and Buxton where the Clio is king..... No over the speed limit ventures (too risky, one mistake and your dead!!), just superb...
I know this has been done to death but.......Just about to buy one of these on ebay, aution had 8 days to go and then....gone!! I remember someone mentioning that a user of cliosport sells them, how do I get in touch with them? Thanks in advance.
oops, what a %^^%. So I have been driving with it off for the last year in rain and snow thinking it was on. I have nearly lost it on bends a few times and have felt it right itself is the ESP engaging itself? We are through the looking glass here people.
Wow.... I remember the day I swapped my clio 1.2 for a 172, driving down the road wondering what all the fuss was about, then came to a dual carriageway and va va voom, nearly va va boom with all that power an little experience.
