Folks,
A friend of mine has a 1.2 Clio on a 54 plate. He phoned me up and explained that water had leaked from the system, so I went round and to see what was happening.
On the bulkhead there's a plastic pipe that's not connected at one end, it just faces down and drips water over the steering...
Pathetic, isn't it. Could be just be some bell-end driving a 1.4 trying to make it look like a 2.0 Sport. A few years ago in the same car park, someone also stole the aerial.
I spoke to the security people to determine whether the cameras could have actually captured anything, that was a waste...
Hi all, just a rant.... went to the cinema in Stevenage last night and some low down dirty scum bag stole my 2.0 badges, £30 'each' to replace
Hopefully I'll find some cheaper somewhere on the web...
If you've only had the car 10 weeks, do you know it's history and whether it's been serviced correctly.
With winter here, consider a full service: change the battery, fit new plugs, oil and filter.
Also, check the earth lead and clean it for good contact.
Hi-ya,
My 2003 172 Cup is on the original clutch and I am considering a replacement some time soon. It's not slipping or causing any problems, but with 111000 miles on the clock it could die any time.
I'd like to get an original Renault clutch, but can any one recommend the cheapest place to...
The new suspension arms came fitted with new ball-joints, so no issues there...
I can't recommend replacing the lower arms enough, makes the car feel like new again. Over a long period you don't tend to notice how the suspension can become sloppy and tired, it's so much tighter. Just a little...
Hi All....
I recently replaced my lower suspension arms, top mounts and added poly bushes to the roll-bar. After fitting, I was getting a horrible clonking noise from the passenger side which was only really noticeable at low speed and on uneven surfaces. Despite double checking everything was...
Neil, how quickly do you need to get a car?
I would suggest saving a bit more cash, if time allows, this would give a much wider choice and you'll more likely find the quality your looking for.
Might be worth waiting for the shows, see if anything is available and strike a deal.
I have read...
I've had my 172 Cup from new and after ten years of ownership its still a hoot to drive, it never ceases to impress.
It's got over 100k on the clock now and despite the mileage, it's never broken down or had any kind of component failure.
Only now I have started to fresh'n it up by fitting new...
Hi all,
Had new K-Tek solid top mounts fitted this weekend, what an amazing difference, which I'd got them sooner.
I highly recommend this upgrade, it really improves steering feel and corning is a bit sharper, there's a real element of precision.
Perhaps not the cheapest upgrade, but if you're...
MY 172 Cup has done 100k, it was feeling a bit sloppy so I fitted new suspension arms and rollbar bushes. The shocks were done about 20k ago.
The car now handles like it's brand new, amazing difference.
Hi All,
I recently purchased some K-Tek solid top mounts for my 2003 172 Cup.
Can anyone recommend a decent garage that could fit them?
I live in Hertfordshire and happy to travel, but not to Lands End....
This is one of those jobs that requires someone with good experience and understands...
The noise may sound like it's coming from inside the car, but with that description I suspect it may be the suspension top mount, a common Clio 2 problem.
Renault do not have a proper fix, except for a rather awful modification which envolves hacking part of the suspension turret.
I've bought...
Hi, I assume you are talking about the front lower suspension arms?
If so they are:
RE82 00 257 957 (RHF)
RE82 00 257 956
They are handed.
Regards,
Steve
