Mark, I'm sure Matt West has run 17" wheels on his Meg 250. Hes had that many sets of wheels though its hard to keep up lol.

I didn't say plastic spigot rings were the best solution buy it's genuinely worrying how many people think wheels are bored to match the hubs simply to make getting wheels on and off easier.......

Use the spigot rings. Anyone who says otherwise is plain stupid.
Ive seen people in the past not use them and they've had the wheel bolts shear off.
If you don't use them you have the full weight of your car resting on your bolts, by using the rings your transferring that load to the hub...
Nope you read it correct, Meganes use a colder grade plug than the clio so I used them. I do know guys who've ran standard clio plugs in their turbo conversions.
I'm still using megane plugs at 400bhp plus and have only had to reduce the gap.
I think the drilling that has been mentioned is regarding the pulley set up.
As we know the 197 f4r and f4rt engines have the water pump running from the cambelt, the clio 1*2 f4r uses the aux belt and needs an additional pulley to compensate. It's easy enough to compare the two heads to see...

Driveshaft wise when you remove it inspect the triple bearing as the symptoms your describing are the same as when it fails.
Mines still going strong, apart from a snapped hose joiner I've never had an engine problem and that's at Low pressure on standard comp, 260bhp low comp, 341bhp and 374bhp. Only issues Ive had were gearbox related on the JC5 which varied from spitting the cv clip out to stripping complete gears...

I've got the same weep, it's pretty annoying but with a winter build on the cards I'm happy to leave it. Pretty sure it's the crank seal or the crank seal insert needs resealing. Reno have a special tool for inserting the crank seal but I'm sure it's around £150
