Mini does feel quicker due to more torque, on paper there very very close, would really come down to the driver at the end of the day.
As for the 130 top speed, if your doing those speeds on roads then your being really really reckless, if your racing at those speeds on UK roads, let me know...
Or when your car is off the road having some work done and you have a courtesy car which is normally something woefully under powered for a few days (or two weeks when I was having some bodywork done on my Porsche) and you get back into your car and think "BLOODY HELL!"
It could have been a lookalike imo, did you notice any camera equipment on his car or a camera car following him?
He could have been test driving one for his collum in the Sun I suppose or for Top Gear Magazine (is that still going? I haven't read it for about 5 years) but I would have thought...
I get about 30mpg on town driving, less if the traffic is bad, haven't had a chance to blat it down a motorway yet so don't know what I would get out of it.
Still my VR6 used to average 26mpg (if had some hefty mods though) round town and only just hit 30 odd on the motorway so it costs me...
It looks pretty much the same as the other pics I have seen, I like it a lot compared to the standard version and I am hoping the performance match the looks!
Well it really depends what your used to, with it being a 16v engine its never going to have that low down grunt and the power will be found further up the rev range, but if you've only ever driven a 1.2 or lower and you haven't much experience of fast cars then it will feel that much better...
I don't like the colour of the Trophy Alloys or the trophy graphis down the side, but that can be changed.
Other than that I would love to get my hands on a Trophy.
On a side note, the other winter when the blizzard hit and cars were stuck for hours on roads all over the country, I saw many...
Well a Phase 1 more so imo, but at the end of the day I see as many men driving Clio's as women and it could be argued that any car that bears a womans name is by definition Feminine.
Also seeing as most cars are refered to as "she" arn't they all feminine?
And seeing as men who drive...
Wow I can really feel the love in this thread!
Starts off with a simple question, How would a Valver stand up to a Mini Cooper S.
Turns in to a slanging match between Valver and 172/182 owners!
I say settle your arguments on a track........ as a suggestion why don't you swap cars after the...
Yeah if you were in the UK and put it up especially in a speciasist magazine you would fetch the asking price, seeing as your out in Jersey I would think it would be more of a buyers market.
I prefer the looks of the Phase 2 over the Phase 1, the front end just looks more business like and meaner.
But at the end of the day its your car and its up to you which one you buy, if you prefer the looks of the phase 1 and only want to spend 5-6k then its a no brainer.
As someone already...
Saw my first Trophy today, I was driving down Victoria road towards Hanley at about 4.30pm, Trophy was coming up the road towards Fenton.
Driver had a grey beard and was wearing a suit, no Cliopsort sticker in the back (I was stuck in traffic so checked my mirror as he drove past)
Nice car...
If your an Elise driver I would say a 172 Cup or a Trophy were for you, there about as close as your ever going to get to the lightweight Elise in a Clio.
Its a matter of taste and what you want rather than whats better, I love my Cup but if I had V6 money then you can bet I would be driving one!
Its not about Performance in a Cup, I think thats the point all the Cup owners are trying to make, the 0-60 difference is pretty minimal and they have the same top speed, straight line performance isn't what driving a Cup is about.
The responsivness and better handling is what makes Cup owners...
A lot of Cup owners (me included) dump the stock seats and stick in buckets anyway, as they are as you say cr*p!
The Cup no matter what people say is the better handling car but this is only going to be really apparent depending on how/where you drive, after all thats what the Cup was designed...
I can't wait till my Golf is sold and I will have money to throw at my car, I would love to know how much it would cost to get 220bhp out of mine!
Very nice indeed and sounds amazing, I want one!!
