It was an opportunity I couldn't miss, but I gather Audi may have been inspired by they grey DC3. For your interest this particular Dakota air dropped on D-Day!
I had just fitted an exhaust, fired it up and the Rev counter died, after that it would turn over but not fire. So it's pointing towards the crank sensor which I have cleaned, but it's still the same. I'll order one up to eliminate it.
Took the old rad off, after flushing the coolant through to replace with type d.

Investigated the leak today, took the bumper off to wipe everything down, started the car and had a look around
Had the odd drip from the corner of the radiator, but the main culprit was the power steering sensor which had split on the top of the thread somehow
With both of the fluids mixed...
Went to take the oil filter off and realised the cables were in an awful state. The alternator is fairly new so I guess whoever fitted that is to blame! Before and after
Changed oil and took it off jacks.

With the wheels off, I'll have a bit of time free so the inlet manifold and fuel rail removed, not decided on paint or polish yet.
Oil leak looks like the vvt solenoid seal so I'll be ordering one this week and clean it up.
Fitted new front dampers with the proline springs. As it had 4 odd makes and a random 205 width all worn I decided it would be a good time to refurbish the corroded turini's, opted for Conti sport 3's on the original 195 width.
Few more issues to sort, the n/s top mount proved to be a pain in the arse, looks like I'll need a new dampers and mounts since whoever fitted the springs previously used an hammer and chisel to tighten the mounts up splitting the thread.

After 7 years I've come back to a Clio for a bit of fun, It's had a few owners, covered 103k however engine and gearbox have no faults apparent.
I have a large to do list which I'm looking forward to, I didn't want to pay over the odds for a mint example, I want to use and drive it.
