Morning guys. As it's a race car we will be running it on the dyno for a while to get the rings bedded in, then just going for it. Won't be run in for any extended period with a low map.
On the dyno at Enginetuner this morning. Slight disappointment as mission aborted at 0.7 bar boost due to a slight misfire on one cylinder. Pretty sure I know what the problem is but it's looking like it will be a stonker of an engine!
Off to pick up the new engine from Enginetuner this morning, much excitement. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, new turbo has arrived, together with the injectors, so I have started to assemble the inlet manifold, which is several hours work on an Impreza engine. Also found time to wrap the exhaust...
I'm semi retired, but I do some fabrication and electrical work for quite a few folk in the motor sport world. I am fortunate to work with Scoobybits, and am involved with some really lovely cars.
Short block built....
EJ22 block with a stroker crank to give 2350cc, GT36 turbo, 850 injectors, GT cams, WRC big valve head conversion, RCM semi equal length headers. Expected to make 480BHP relaibly, with 500lb/ft torque.
Cheers Tony. Had quite a successful season with the car, only a couple of niggly teething problems, handling and stopping well, so on with the stonking motor for next year. Getting the hang of the thing towards the end of the year as the seat time increased, every run scarier LOL!
Not picked it up yet, but it's a grp mini shell on top of a shortened Impreza floorpan.
