The two lugs at the handbrake end of the gearlever gaiter appear to have snapped, leaving the gaiter loose. I think I'll just need to get a new gaiter from the dealer, but does anyone have any idea how the gaiter comes off? Gearlever knob doesn't seem to unscrew. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My 172 Sport has just turned three years old and has just had its exhaust replaced with a standard original spec one, which I got through a local exhaust fitter (I didn't want an after-market stainless steel exhaust that might have been too loud for me). This was a little cheaper than the price...

I'd like to replace the standard wheels on my Mark 2 172 with 172 Cup wheels. I think I'm right in saying the offset will be different (which gave the 172 Cup its wider track); but presumably they will fit ok ? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks.
