they do come in diffrent sizes.. the one in my clio is quite small compaired to some of the other CDA's about..
check the bmc website for size infomation.
murcod.. its not that the clio isnt OBD2 or EOBD2 complaint... that's just the connector type..
its either the commands or the protocol that the the commands to get the info from Renault's ecu is not standardized. Hence why im trying to get different software.. obviously you will have to have...
sorry to dig up an old thread, the game has moved a bit since 2007, has any one had any decent results with any software? apart from the clip stuff..
i dont mind paying for it, but as long as its reasonably priced... (upto 50usd.)
well that was the point of this mod.. in aus placing a ecu into a car can raise alot of questions from the authorities and from insurance.. some companys just wont insure a car with a aftermarket managment.... by keeping the management stock you can do as you please.. with out breaking...
what dose that include? throttle bodies, injectors and an ecu?
here they used a diffrent ecu (it was 2-3times more then the omex) also cams, and i think a few other things were added as well..
if you take away the cams, and get a cheap second hand inlet the prices are very respectable in...
no...... to set up itbs on a clio in aus is about 13kAUD.
the killer in this setup is the inlet.. here it cost me $2200 becasue there are not too many wreck 197s here..
7200AUD is what Paul is quoting his customers..
quote from OZRS.
i have put a bit more into it with regards to the exhaust and intake setup..
cheers Joel.
what do you mean that they cant tune ecus?
my car was tuned locally on the stock ecu.. i cant really dive into what was changed were made but the car feels soo much better then a stock 172...
if you threw lots and lotsa money at it.. i reccon you could get about 280-300hp....
but you are talkin alota custom components, using race fuel, and it would be compleatly unstreetable.
yea getting the tuning right was an absoloute b**ch.. and getting the correct software was half the task...
we were gonna use some heavier cams,, has anyone here gotten a 1*2 to idle with 421 cams with a stock ecu??
and?
here are some of the lastest pics of my setup..
the engine makes about 110kw atw.. and feels very strong between 3k8 and 7k0 rpm... as thats where most of the torque is made.. other then that it drives like a normal clio while commuting..
and a youtube clip if ya intrested...
^^ yep your bang on the money there mate... before i had the mounts the fronts were wound up a little more then the rears.. now with these mounts i have to wind up the rears more.. i have found that 1.5 turns on the rear and .5 turns on the front seems to make it turn like it should..
thanks...
i had a play with the intake setup on it today and i came back with these..
one thing that i found interesting after driving for more then 30-35min (ambient temp 11-13degC) the intake was 2-4deg above ambient. i drove for another 40-50min and found the same again..
really..... i would of thought that the solid mounts would of increased the handeling not decrease it.. any ideas to remedy it? should i consider going back to stock?
thanks for the input. i thought that i was going mad when i got my car back and it was understeering. beforehand it used to...
hmm ill have a play with the tyre pressurs and ill drop the firmness of the fronts down a bit and see how i go..
as for the strut tops they are done up tight.. as for the fitment.. i dident fit em, so i cant comment on the quality of the fitment..
as for the powerflex bushes i just have the...
i have recently fitted some compbrake solid strut tops, and currently have some Konis and Eibach springs fitted.. the front geometry settings are 0 toe and 2deg of neg camber.
now when cornernering quite hard to the left i get understeer..

some of the guys on OZRS.au timed my car at 6.5sec to 100 (or 60mph) thats with a non stripped car with a decent size stereo.
Cheers Joel.
it will be fine, if its a mineral oil it will degreade the properties of the oil currently in the engine, if the oil in the engine is of a superior quality.... what also troubles me is why he recently topped it up? where is the oil going for it to be required to be topped up?
from factory they...
I was just wondering if there is any HP gain in replacing the cat converter on a 172?
i was thinking of the lines of a 200cpi metal cat with custom piping.. but i have been told before that the factory cat, dose the job quite well and there isnt much power if any to be made here...
even though...
